The story explores his disillusionment with money, and his unique journey as he works towards building a series of orphanages around the world. The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar is a collection of short films written and directed by indie-filmmaker Wes Anderson. The anthology is based on a collection of short stories of the same name written by the famous children's writer Roald Dahl. This is the second time the director is adapting a Roald Dahl story to film, the first being the 2009 film Fantastic Mr Fox.
The short-film marks Wes Anderson's first collaboration with the streaming giant Netflix, and is set to have a runtime of 37 minutes. Wes Anderson has assembled an interesting cast to bring this story to life with Benedict Cumberbatch aka Sherlock Homes from the popular TV series Sherlock as the wonderful Henry Sugar, Ralph Fiennes from The Grand Budapest Hotel as Roald Dahl, and Dev Patel from Slumdog Millionaire and The Personal History of David Copperfield playing an undisclosed role. The extended cast includes Ben Kingsley, Rupert Friend, and Richard Ayoade.
