Spotlight is an Canadian sitcom created by David Lynch that originally aired on NBC from March 27, 2015 until February 2, 2016. The series revolves around a music teacher named Miss Grenlin who is trying to reach out to a class full of uninterested students, while also discovering that the school is due to be closed by the unscrupulous local authority chief Mr. Wallace. The series premiered on March 27, 2015. The first soundtrack for the series, Spotlight, was released on August 2, 2016. The series has had one Emmy nomination. On August 10, 2016, Yvonne Nixon stated that the series would not be renewed. David Lynch added in a blog post that he and the cast would have been willing to shoot more episodes, the network decided to end the series.
