Synopsis
Alina Starkov must conceal her Sun Summoner abilities as the Darkling grows stronger
In the previous season's finale, Alina Starkov managed to escape the control of the Darkling and find a safe place. However, as a Sun Summoner, she is a valuable asset and requires protection. Alina attempts to live a typical life and conceal her identity with the assistance of her childhood friend Mal and other allies. As she struggles to not publicly execute her abilities, the Darkling's power grows as he grows determined to destroy her.

Stars Jessie Mei Li and Ben Barnes return for the second season
Shadow and Bone Season 2 is the second season of the Netflix fantasy series. It is based on the book series of the same name and authored by Leigh Bardugo. Eric Heisserer was responsible for adapting the books into a television format.
The Grisha are a group of individuals who possess magical abilities to manipulate various elements. There are three distinct types of Grisha: the Materialki can control metal and glass, the Etherealki have the ability to summon wind and fire while the Corporalki can manipulate the human body. The rarest form of Grisha is the one who can summon light and the series’ protagonist, Alina Starkov, is one of those few exceptional individuals with this gift.
A majority of the actors from the show’s first season return for season 2. Jessie Mei Li portrays lead Alina Starkov while Ben Barnes reprises his role as Aleksander Kirigan, who is also known as the Darkling. Archie Renaux portrays the character of Mal Oretsev, Alina's childhood friend. The characters of Kaz Brekker, Inej Ghafa, and Jesper Fahey are portrayed by Freddy Carter, Amita Suman, and Kit Young respectively. They form a clever and deceptive gang of criminals within the show.
