Following the lukewarm reception of his first album, up-and-coming rapper Dave focuses on his second release. After struggling with his insecurities, Dave finally feels confident and motivated to create new music. As he embarks on his inaugural solo tour, he must navigate the difficulties of life on the road. At the same time, Dave's ex-girlfriend Ally has moved on and found happiness with someone else. Dave realizes that no matter how successful he becomes, having meaningful relationships is paramount.
Dave season 3 is the third season for the comedy series created by Lil Dicky and Jeff Schaffer for FXX. The production of the series is handled by FX Production. Greg Mottola and Kevin Hart tackle executive producing duties along with creators Lil Dicky and Schaffer and Saladin K. Patterson, Marty Bowen, Scooter Braun, Mike Hertz, Scott Manson and James Shin.
David Andrew Burd returns to the role of Lil Dicky along with his best hype-man GaTa, portraying fictionalized versions of themselves. The show's previous season cast members including Andrew Santino as Dave's manager Mike, Taylor Misiak, Christine Ko and Elz, all reprise their roles.
