Idris Elba and Adam Pally star in Knuckles animated miniseries
Knuckles is an animated miniseries based on the world of Sega’s Sonic the Hedgehog video game series. The miniseries is a spin-off of the Sonic the Hedgehog film adaptations, and takes place between the events of the second and third films. Knuckles is created by The Lego Batman Movie writer John Whittington and Sonic the Hedgehog producer Toby Ascher. The limited series consists of six episodes.
Idris Elba stars as the voice of Knuckles the Echidna, a hot-headed warrior with super strength. Adam Pally co-stars as Wade Whipple, who must learn the ways of the warrior. The show’s recurring cast features Cary Elwes as “Pistol” Pete Whipple, a 27-time championship bowler, Edi Patterson as Wade’s sister Wanda and Stockard Channing as Wade’s mother Wendy. Julian Barratt appears as Jack Sinclair, with Scott Mescudi as Agent Mason and Ellie Taylor as Agent Willoughby.
The series also has a number of notable guest stars. Rory McCann appears as ‘The Buyer’, a man determined to steal Knuckle’s power. Tika Sumpter is Maddie Wachowski, Knuckle’s adoptive mother, Ben Schwartz is Sonic the Hedgehog, Colleen O’Shaughnessey is Miles “Tails” Prower, and Christopher Lloyd is Pachacamac. Paul Scheer and Rob Huebel also feature in the miniseries.
