Dead Ringers is a psychological thriller television series for Amazon Prime Video. The series is produced by Amazon Studios, Annapurna Television and Morgan Creek Entertainment. The series is based on David Cronenberg’s 1988 film of the same name, and created by Alice Birch who has previously written for Normal People, The Wonder and Succession. The episodes are directed by Sean Durkin, Karyn Kusama, Karena Evans and Lauren Wolkstein.
Academy Award winner Rachel Weisz (The Constant Gardener) serves as executive producer and stars as both Elliot and Beverly Mantle, two twin surgeons living in Manhattan who are revolutionising gynaecological medicine. These characters are gender flipped from the original protagonists in the 1988 film played by Jeremy Irons. Michael Chernus (Orange is the New Black) plays Tom, Poppy Liu (Hacks) plays Greta and Britne Oldford (The Umbrella Academy) plays Genevieve.
