Jimmy O. Yang, Stephanie Tsu and BD Wong star in Netflix animated movie
The Monkey King is a Netflix animated comedy film. The film is produced by Hong Kong filmmaker Stephen Chow, known for Shaolin Soccer, executive produces with Peilin Chou and Kendra Haaland producing. Anthony Stacchi, a storyboard artist, experienced animator, screenwriter and film director helms the movie, with a screenplay written by Ron Friedman and Steve Bencich. The duo previously wrote Chicken Little and Open Season.
Jimmy O. Yang, an actor, writer and stand-up comedian known from Silicon Valley, Space Force and Crazy Rich Asians, leads the cast. Bowen Yang, Jolie Hoang-Rappaport, Jo Koy, Ron Tuan and Hoon Lee are all part of the voice cast, along with Stephanie Tsu (Spongebob Squarepants) and BD Wong (Mr Robot, Mulan)
