Rachel Zegler, Tom Blyth and Viola Davis star in The Hunger Games prequel movie
The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes is a dystopian drama-action film based on Suzanne Collins’ 2020 novel of the same name. The film is directed by Francis Lawrence who is known for directing The Hunger Games films Catching Fire, Mockingjay - Part One, Mockingjay - Part Two, Red Sparrow and Constantine. The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes is the fifth instalment in The Hunger Games film franchise. With a screenplay from Michael Arndt and Michael Lesslie, the film is produced by Nina Jacobson, Francis Lawrence and Brad Simpson.
Tom Blyth stars as Coriolanus Snow, the 18 year old who later becomes the tyrannical leader of Panem. Rachel Zegler co-stars as Lucy Gray Baird, the female tribute from District 12. Hunter Schafer plays Tigris Snow, Josh Andrés Rivera as Sejanus Plinth, Jason Schwartzman as Lucretius “Lucky” Flickerman, Peter Dinklage as Casca Highbottom, Fionnula Flanagan as Coriolanus Snow’s grandmother Grandma’am, Ashley Liao as Clemensia Dovecote, Burn Gorman as Commander Hoff and Academy Award winner Viola Davis as Dr. Volumnia Gaul. The extended cast includes Eike Onyamnu, Michael Greco, Scott Folan, Konstantin Taffet, Carl Spencer and Daniela Grubert.
