Synopsis
Something sinister this way comes, as children are dying mysteriously
Lester Billings’ three young children died mysteriously when alone in their bedrooms. All three children cried “Boogeyman!” before being left alone in the room, and the wardrobe door was found ajar, even though Lester is sure it was shut. Distraught by the loss, Lester shows up at his psychiatrist, Dr Will Harper’s house. By letting Lester in, the Harpers have no idea what terror is walking into their home.

Stephen King story adapted for the big screen starring Chris Messina and Sophie Thatcher
The Boogeyman is an American horror film adapted from Stephen King’s 1973 short story. The film is directed by Rob Savage (Host, Dashcam), with a screenplay from Bryan Woods, Scott Beck and Mark Heyman. An adaptation of King’s story was previously announced in June 2018, but the project was cancelled in 2019 after Fox was acquired by Disney. Principal photography for the film began in New Orleans in February 2022.
Sophie Thatcher (Yellowjackets) stars as Sadie Harper, and Chris Messina (The Mindy Project) as her father Dr Will Harper. Dr Harper is a psychiatrist who is treating patient Lester Billings, played by David Dastmalchian (The Dark Knight). Vivien Lyra Blair (Bird Box) plays Sawyer.
