Taron Egerton (Rocketman, Kingsman: The Secret Service) stars as Henk Rogers, the Dutch entrepreneur that worked to bring Tetris to the global stage. Working alongside Soviet computer engineer and Tetris creator Alexey Pajitnov (played by Nikita Yefremov), Tetris is the true story about their struggle to license and distribute a game while competing with the opposing value systems of communism and capitalism during the Cold War.
Directed by Jon S. Baird (Filth), and written by Noah Pink (creator of Genius), the film is produced by Apple TV+. The world premiere was at SXSW Film Festival on March 15, 2023. The film also stars Toby Jones (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, Captain America: The First Avenger) as Robert Stein, alongside Roger Allam and Anthony Boyle as Robert and Kevin Maxwell respectively. Togo Igawa plays Hiroshi Yamauchi, the president on Nintendo during the time period of the film.
