Becoming a cultural phenomenon isn’t easy. But 'The Mandalorian' managed to turn Pedro Pascal into one of Hollywood’s biggest actors AND grace the world with Grogu (aka Baby Yoda). The show is like a wild buddy film that has vibes of spaghetti westerns, 'Homeward Bound', and 'Thelma and Louise'. Mando is definitely one of the best modern entries in the Star Wars franchise and is one of the most bingeable shows on Disney+.

A refinement of everything I love about Star Wars
Personally, I was never drawn into Star Wars by stories of Jedi. It was the pilots, the rouges, and the cutthroats who caught my attention—which meant I was the perfect mark for The Mandalorian. The first two seasons of this Star Wars show are among the franchise's best 21st century outings, with a keen eye on the style and texture that always helped the franchise stand out. Bolstered by strong direction and a icy cool lead performance by a masked Pedro Pascal, The Mandalorian is everything I loved about Star Wars as a kid, refined and remolded into one of the best Disney+ original shows.

Star Wars meets Western with the perfect found family dynamics
The Mandalorian is Star Wars at its best and most fun. Not nearly as dark as Andor, the show is still superior to most other Star Wars live-actions series. Those with knowledge of the genres will recognize the influences from not just Westerns but samurai films. But at heart, The Mandalorian is a story about found family, and how even in a galaxy far, far away, there are stories like those of a little Baby Yoda (his name is Grogu, but we won’t stop calling him that) and a hardened bounty hunter, played by Pedro Pascal, becoming each other’s home.
