When women report to the police that they have been sexually assaulted, not only are they not taken seriously but they are often charged with making a false claim. This documentary follows reporter Rae de Leon as she documents these cases nationwide by interviewing police officers, legal experts, and the families of the victims. With some of these women facing years in prison for reporting to the police a crime that was done against them, this documentary highlights injustice and institutional prejudice.
Victim/Suspect is an upcoming American documentary movie. It is directed by Nancy Schwartzman, the award-winning documentary filmmaker responsible for Roll Red Roll.
