After the revelations left simmering at the end of season 1, Louis’ entire account of what happened comes into question. Meanwhile, Louis and Claudia head to Europe where they discover a new corner of the world full of covens, theatre, and intrigue.
Interview with the Vampire Season 2 is the second season of the vampire horror series produced for AMC in the US and the BBC in the UK. The season continues the story of vampires Louis de Pointe du Lac, Claudia, Lestat de Lioncourt, and human journalist Daniel Molloy after they make their way to Europe. The series is created by Rolin Jones, who based it on the 1976 novel by Anne Rice called Interview with the Vampire. Jones’ previous credits include Weeds, Friday Night Lights, Boardwalk Empire, and Perry Mason. The novel upon which the series is based was previously adapted into a highly successful film in 1994 starring Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise. The second season covers the second half of Rice’s book, and includes elements from her other books in the Vampire Chronicles series.
Interview with the Vampire Season 2 stars American actor Jacob Anderson (Game of Thrones) as the 145-year-old vampire Louis de Pointe du Lac. Australian actor Sam Reid stars as the hedonistic vampire Lestat de Lioncourt. Eric Bogosian joins as journalist Daniel Molloy, who conducts his interview with Louis de Pointe de Lac once again, some 49 years later. Other cast members include Delainey Hayles as Claudia, a freshly made vampire who becomes a daughter figure for Lestat, Assad Zaman as the 500+-year-old Armand, and Ben Daniels as Santiago, the leader of the Théâtre des Vampires.
Season 2 of Interview with the Vampire was released on BBC iPlayer on May 12, 2024.
