When young Peter meets a mysterious fortune teller, he is desperate to know if his long-lost sister Adele is still alive, and if she is, where he can find her. He is told that an elephant conjured by a magician will give him answers. But before Peter can speak to the elephant, he must complete three impossible tasks. Peter sets off on the adventure of a lifetime to complete the tasks, find his sister, and reunite their family.
The Magician’s Elephant is an animated children's film produced by Netflix. The film is based on a children’s book of the same title by author Kate DiCamillo. Adapting the book to the screen are writer Mark Hynes (Toy Story 4) and director Wendy Rogers (Shrek, The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian). The film marks Rogers’ directorial debut. Mark Mothersbaugh composes the musical score and Lucasfilm alumnus Gary H. Lee acts as cinematographer.
Noah Jupe (A Quiet Place) voices the protagonist, Peter. Pixie Davis voices his on-screen sister, Adele. Benedict Wong voices the Magician. Brian Tyree Henry, Miranda Richardson, Dawn French, Sian Clifford and Aasif Mandvi all lend their voices to the cast.
