Synopsis
In this visually stunning series, Kevin and Jamie bring to life five historic expeditions that took place in New Zealand between 1810 and 1909. Real expeditions which saw a dozen courageous pioneers venture into the wilds of the last untamed country on the planet - literally going where no man had gone before! In First Crossings, Kevin and Jamie not only conquer the same terrain as those early pioneers, but do so wearing the same clothing and footwear, using the same equipment, and eating the same wild food – all to get inside the minds of the heroes of two centuries ago in whose footsteps they are following. First-hand experience of hardship and danger make this series an emotional, gutsy, and often terrifying, experiment.
