In 1983 a commercial sub-orbital spaceship "The Spindrift", on a flight from New York City to London, passes through a strange space cloud and crash lands on an alternate Earth-like planet where the inhabitants are giants. The stranded crew and passengers must try to repair their ship and avoid the oppressive oversized government that wants to capture the "little people" and steal their advanced technology.
