Bondi Rescue's five-time Logie Award-winning lifeguards return to TEN this summer for their eighth season, and for the first time ever they are telling their story in their own words. Through master style interviews, they will personally take viewers on their journey through mass rescues, resuscitations, shark sightings, and all number of the often weird and wonderful experiences that Bondi beach dishes up. No longer framed by narration, lifeguards who are normally considered the strong and silent types are revealing a side of themselves that we have never been privy to before. Familiar favourites including Hoppo, Deano, Reidy, Maxi, Harries and Whippet return and this year there's a new trainee in town. Taco is a carefree 19-year-old surfer who has never had a full-time job before. It's a steep learning curve on a beach that hosts millions of visitors each year, and as many as 40,000 in any one day.
