Set in the 1960's, this extraordinary story takes us through the life of Ye Wenjie, a Chinese astrophysicist who witnesses the brutal murder of her beloved father, and ends up testing the fate of humanity. 3 Body Problem is a science fiction series created by D.B Weiss, David Benioff, and Alexander Woo for Netflix. Weiss and David are best known for creating the hit HBO drama Game of Thrones. This sci-fi series is based on Chinese author Liu Cixin's bestselling trilogy of the same name. This is the second time these novels are being attempted to adapt to screen. The trilogy was originally set to be adapted as a Chinese movie in 2015, however, the film never released.
The series is led by Saamer Usmani as Raj Varma, and Jess Hong as Jin Cheng. Jovan Adepo stars as Saul Durand, with Sea Shimooka as Sophon. Zine Tseng comes onboard to play the role of young Ye Wnjie, while Rosalind Chao stars as present day Ye. Benedict Wong, John Bradley, Eliza Gonzalez, Liam Cunningham, Thomas Wade, and Jonathan Pryce round out the rest of the cast.
