How to watch Breaking Bad in chronological order
In terms of the timeline, Better Call Saul is the starting point of the franchise as it traces the rise of underdog lawyer Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk). This happens in the years before he got associated with Walter White (Bryan Cranston). Even though Better Call Saul serves as a prequel, some of its final episodes are set after Breaking Bad. These episodes play out in black-and-white making it easy to distinguish between the pre-Breaking Bad events.
Breaking Bad chronologically follows the show with Saul already established as a well-earning lawyer. The focus of Breaking Bad lies on Walter White and his accomplice Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) as they struggle through a ruthless world of crime, drugs, and self-destruction.
Following the shocking series finale “Felina”, Breaking Bad was also accompanied by a spin-off film called El Camino. With characters like Jesse and Mike (Jonathan Banks) returning, the movie explores the direct aftermath of the finale.
