Shaurya Singh Thapa

Shaurya Singh Thapa is a journalist and freelance writer from India who indulges the nitty-gritties of cinema, music, history and pop culture. His interests in cinema range from mainstream Hollywood to regional picks from all his native country and the rest of the world. Instead of Netflix and Prime, he is an unabashed promoter of the streaming platform Tubi mainly because it's free and because it offers some of his preferred low-budget cult classics like The Toxic Avenger, WolfCop, The Evil Bong, Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter and Post Apocalyptic Commando Shark. While he's not a filmmaker by profession, "auteurs" like Tommy Wiseau (The Room) and Ed Wood (Plan 9 From Outer Space) are his role models in life. Thapa also makes Instagram satirical posts/memes and makes parody rap/pop music on the side.

Experience and Education

Thapa's tryst with journalism began in his undergraduate years when he was pursuing History (with the hopes of being Indiana Jones or in his case, "Indian" Jones). As a student reporter in his alma mater Delhi University, Thapa started out as a ground reporter and copy editor for DU Beat, the campus newspaper and India's largest student-run publication. Within a year, he became DU Beat's Web Editor. This was followed by a regular stint as a listicle and features writer for Canadian infotainment site Screen Rant, penning more than 1100 articles on movies, comics, music, books, ending explainers etc. He also spent a year working as a Sub-Editor for the acclaimed India Today magazine's digital section. He also authored news reports and features, conducted guest intervies and manages Instagram content for India Today's subsidiary website DailyO. As a freelancer, Thapa's observations on cinema have been published in CBR, Film Companion, LiveWire and Firstpost.

Favourite Movies and TV-Shows

Thapa bases his personality by quoting The Room (arguably the worst movie ever made or the movie that's so bad that it's good) so that Tommy Wiseau classic is definitely up there among his favourite movies. Other go-to movies include Stand By Me, anything by Spike Lee or Spielberg, The King of Comedy (best Scorsese movie, period), Shrek and a whole lot of Aamir Khan movies from India. He's also a dedicated horror aficionado, deriving pleasure out of Hereditary, The Empty Man and Talk To Me. As for TV shows, any show with a morally ambigious self-hating protagonist works for him (Barry, Fleabag, Bojack Horseman, Succession, The Sopranos, Better Call Saul, Atlanta, Flowers). •
Every Animated Spider-Man Show and Where to Watch Them

Every Animated Spider-Man Show and Where to Watch Them

Spider-Man’s journey as an animated hero spans decades, reflecting his evolution as a cultural icon. From the cult classic Spider-Man (1967) to the latest Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man (2025), each show has redefined the beloved web-slinger for new generations, showcasing his versatility as both a hero and a relatable character. Here’s how you can watch every Spider-Man TV show streaming online right now.

How to watch every Spider-Man TV show in chronological order

Every Spider-Man animated series follows a different continuity. So, it’s best to watch them on their own, starting out from any of the series. For a more complete experience and to understand the evolution of Spider-Man in animation, you can stream the original 1967 series and then progress across the subsequent decades.

Spider-Man (1967): The original Spider-Man series was a trailblazer, introducing Peter Parker’s adventures to Saturday morning television. Known for its iconic theme song (“Spider-Man, Spider-Man, does whatever a spider can”), the show featured simple yet charming animation. It captured the essence of Stan Lee and Steve Ditko’s comics, with Peter juggling his responsibilities as a student and a hero.

Spider-Man (1981): The wall-crawler returned in Spider-Man, a straightforward adaptation of his comic adventures.

Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends (1981–1983): That same year, Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends introduced a new spin, pairing Peter Parker with Firestar and Iceman. Together, the trio fought iconic Marvel villains, while their camaraderie added a fun dynamic to the show.

Spider-Man: The Animated Series (1994-1998): Often considered the definitive Spider-Man animated series, Spider-Man: The Animated Series brought a mature storytelling approach. Featuring serialized narratives, complex character arcs, and faithful comic adaptations, it explored Spider-Man’s dual life as a hero and an ordinary young man.

Spider-Man Unlimited (1999): This 13-episode series was an ambitious, futuristic take on the hero, sending him to an alternate Earth dominated by animal hybrids. Though short-lived, it experimented with sci-fi themes and a unique art style.

Spider-Man: The New Animated Series (2003): MTV’s Spider-Man offered a more mature, CGI-driven take on Peter Parker. It continued from Sam Raimi’s 2002 Spider-Man film but struggled to find its audience, leading to its cancellation after one season.

The Spectacular Spider-Man (2008-2009): This 2000s-era hit earned acclaim for its balance of humor, drama, and action. This adaptation perfectly captured Peter’s life as a high schooler while delivering engaging storylines and dynamic animation.

Ultimate Spider-Man (2012-2017): This mega team-up of a show was a more comedic, fourth-wall-breaking take. It introduced younger audiences to Spider-Man’s world, blending action with humor. While divisive among older fans, it was notable for its crossover episodes with other Marvel heroes.

Marvel’s Spider-Man (2017–2020): This Disney original rebooted the character for a younger generation, focusing on Peter’s scientific genius and growth as a hero. It had mixed reviews but resonated with its target audience.

Spidey and His Amazing Friends (2021–Present): In 2021, Spidey and His Amazing Friends debuted as a preschool series, introducing toddlers to Peter, Gwen, and Miles. Its playful tone and simple storytelling made it accessible for Spider-Man’s youngest fans.

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man (2025): Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man brings a fresh perspective to the beloved character. Set in an alternate MCU timeline, the series explores Peter Parker’s origins with Norman Osborn as his mentor instead of Tony Stark. Its cel-shaded animation pays homage to Steve Ditko and John Romita Sr.’s art. With Hudson Thames voicing the role of Peter Parker, the series promises a nostalgic yet innovative take on Spider-Man’s early adventures.

  •
Every A24 Movie in Order and Where to Watch Them

Every A24 Movie in Order and Where to Watch Them

Founded in 2012, the indie studio A24 has transformed from a modest independent film distributor into one of the most influential players in modern cinema. Our detailed guide below offers you a glimpse through the diverse journey of A24 while also providing you with offers and options to stream every A24 movie so far on OTT platforms.

From Moonlight to Lady Bird: What are the best A24 movies to watch?

The company began its journey with Roman Coppola's A Glimpse Inside the Mind of Charles Swan III in 2013, but it was the provocative Spring Breakers that same year that first demonstrated A24's willingness to embrace bold, unconventional storytelling.

The studio's early years were marked by critically acclaimed releases like the sci-fi thriller Ex Machina, the real-life human drama Room, and the supernatural period horror The Witch, establishing A24's reputation for discovering unique voices and nurturing emerging talent. Their commitment to original storytelling and artistic vision began attracting established filmmakers and actors who sought creative freedom rarely offered by major studios.

A watershed moment came in 2016 with Barry Jenkins' Moonlight. The film's Best Picture victory at the 89th Academy Awards – in one of the most memorable Oscar moments ever, following the La La Land envelope mix-up – announced A24 as a major force in prestige filmmaking. Moonlight also secured awards for Best Supporting Actor (Mahershala Ali) and Best Adapted Screenplay, proving that independent cinema could achieve both critical and mainstream recognition.

The studio continued to build its reputation with distinctive films like Lady Bird, The Florida Project, Hereditary, and Midsommar, each contributing to A24's reputation for boundary-pushing content. Their keen eye for emerging talent has launched the careers of directors like Ari Aster, Robert Eggers, and Greta Gerwig, while also providing platforms for established auteurs to create their most daring work.

However, it was 2022's Everything Everywhere All at Once that marked A24's greatest triumph to date. The genre-bending action fantasy directed by Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert became an unexpected box office phenomenon, grossing over $100 million worldwide and sweeping the 95th Academy Awards. The film's seven Oscar wins, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actress (Michelle Yeoh), Best Supporting Actor (Ke Huy Quan), and Best Supporting Actress (Jamie Lee Curtis), represented an unprecedented achievement for an independent studio.

A24's success extends beyond critical acclaim. Their marketing strategies have been revolutionary, creating viral campaigns and merchandise that have turned the studio itself into a brand.

The studio has also successfully ventured into television with acclaimed series like HBO’s Euphoria and Netflix’s Beef, demonstrating their ability to translate their distinctive sensibility across different mediums. Their expansion into international productions, such as the German-language Holocaust drama The Zone of Interest and the Korean-American romantic drama Past Lives, shows their commitment to bringing diverse storytelling to global audiences.

As A24 continues to evolve, they maintain their commitment to innovative storytelling while expanding their reach. Recent successes like the Australian horror Talk to Me and the Korean-American romance Past Lives prove that the studio hasn't lost its touch for identifying and promoting unique voices in filmmaking. With each new release, A24 reinforces its position as a cultural tastemaker and a crucial platform for independent cinema in an increasingly franchise-dominated industry.
