As a Māori girl transitions into womanhood, she leaves behind the mischief of childhood for the responsibilities associated with protecting her people. Hinekura follows her ceremonial journey in accepting her role as a warrior and a woman, marked by the internal and external struggles that exist in growing up.    Cuando una niña maorí se convierte en mujer, deja atrás las travesuras de la infancia por las responsabilidades asociadas con la protección de su pueblo. Hinekura sigue el viaje ceremonial de una jóven al aceptar su papel de guerrera y mujer, marcado por las luchas internas y externas que existen al crecer.
