Netflix's animated Pokémon series sees The Boys' Karen Fukuhara lead the English voice cast
Pokémon Concierge season 1 is the first season of Netflix's Japanese stop-motion animated series. Directed by short film director Iku Ogawa and written by Harumi Doki, who has previously worked on titles like Re/Member and Motokare retry, Pokémon Concierge is based on the immensely successful and beloved Pokémon franchise. Tadahiro Uesugi takes charge of the series' concept arts and character design. The Pokémon franchise has consistently dominated the media landscape since its creation in 1996.
In a first-ever collaboration between the Pokémon Company and Netflix, Pokémon Concierge is a four-episode series with each installment lasting 14 to 20 minutes. The legendary Mariya Takeuchi, who is regarded as one of Japan's most beloved city pop artists and is also one of the country's best-selling music artists, sings the theme music for the series titled "Have a Good Time Here."
Leading the English voice cast in Pokémon Concierge is the talented Karen Fukuhara, known for her roles in The Boys and the English dub for The Boy and the Heron. She is joined by a notable supporting cast including Everybody Hates Chris' Imani Hakim as Alisa, Voltron: Legendary Defender's Josh Keaton as Tyler and SpongeBob SquarePants' Lori Alan as Watanabe.
In the original Japanese dub of the series, Rena Nōnen from In This Corner of the World lends her voice to the lead role of Haru. The cast also includes JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean's Fairouz Ai as Alisa, Yell's Eita Okuno as Tyler and TIGER & BUNNY's Yoshiko Takemura as Watanabe.
