Less Than Kind - Season 2 (2010)

Picking up where season one left off, the abrasive Sam Blecher (Maury Chaykin) is at Death's door. But even Death won't answer when Sam comes knocking. As a result his unstable wife Anne Blecher (CCA award winner Wendel Meldrum) is having her anxiety is ratcheted up to the breaking point as she struggles to become matriarch, nurse, and driving school entrepreneur all at once. She isn't getting a lot of help from her firstborn Josh (2009 Gemini nominee Benjamin Arthur) who is torn by his obligations to his dying acting career, the family, himself, and girlfriend Shandra – but mostly himself. Aunt Clara (Nancy Sorel) has become the rock that the family leans on and it's barely affecting her rocky romantic life - who doesn't fall asleep on a first date? As the turmoil at home escalates Sheldon Blecher (Jesse Camacho) is dealing with seismic developments of his own. His best friend brace face Miriam Goldstein (2009 Gemini nominee Brooke Palsson) is becoming more than just a friend. Together they endure the explosive shift from their life as innocent geeks to being sixteen - a world on the cusp of sex, drugs and even rock 'n roll. For Sheldon, this is a year of bullies and girl bullies, cliques and parties and just to add a little gasoline to the fire, Sheldon and Miriam inherit a new partner: the feral Danny Lubbe (Tyler Johnston) who's mission in life is to torture his father, and their teacher, Mr. Lubbe (Ross McMillan) for whom the existence of Danny is a recent and devastating surprise.
