Synopsis
Narrated by Paul Copley (Downton Abbey), this series takes a close look at four iconic gardens created during four very different eras, each garden giving us a fascinating window into a different century and the people that created it. Beginning with Christopher Lloyd's garden at Great Dixter, we immerse ourselves in the world of the Arts and Crafts garden. We then move on to the National Trust gardens, as we reveal the politics and intrigue behind the Georgian landscape garden at Stowe, travel around the world at Biddulph Grange, the best-surviving Victorian garden in the country, and explore the doomed Edwardian romance of Nymans, a quintessentially English garden created by a family of German Jewish immigrants.
