Synopsis
Shop owners embrace the changes to womens’ rights in 1961
Six months after the events of the Ladies in Black movie, women from Goodes Department Store open up their shop doors to welcome in the societal changes of the 1960s. As their independence flourishes, the changes bring difficult challenges to their personal lives.

ABC drama series ‘Ladies In Black’ stars Miranda Otto, Jessica De Gouw and Debi Mazar
Ladies in Black is based on Madeleine St John’s novel of the same name. The six–part series is directed by Gracie Otto (The Artful Dodger, The Clearing). Greg Waters, Joan Sauers, Sarah Bassiuoni and Randa Sayed serve as writers on the show, with Sophia Zachariou (The Office Australia), Angela Littlejohn (Cleverman), Greer Simpkin (Mystery Road) and David Jowsey (Limbo). Ladies in Black is made with funding from the ABC, South Australian Film Corporation and Screen NSW.
Debi Mazar leads the cast of Ladies In Black. The American actress is well-known for her performances in Younger and Entourage. Australian actresses Miranda Otto (The Clearing) and Jessica De Gouw (The Drover’s Wife: The Legend of Molly Johnson) also star in the series. The cast also includes an ensemble of Australian talent which includes Kate Box (Wentworth), Azizi Donnelly (Secret Society of Lies), Julian Maroun (Aftertaste), Carlos Sanson Jr (Bump), Tom Wilson (Heartbreak High) and 2022 NIDA graduate Clare Hughes.
