Synopsis
Helen is getting her life back on track after divorce
Helen sets off on a hike through the Appalachian Trail with an eccentric band of strangers. Pushing herself beyond her creature comforts, Helen hopes that this change of scenery will help her heal from her recent divorce. As the group makes their way through the wilderness, they must learn how to navigate the challenges that come their way and start to develop a deep friendship.

Ellie Kemper stars in Netflix comedy drama film
Based on the Katherine Center novel of the same name, Happiness for Beginners is a romantic dramedy film. The film is written and directed by Vicky Wright, who previously adapted Center’s novel The Lost Husband. Geoff Linville and Berry Meyerowitz produce, with Larry Greenburg and Jeff Sackman executive producing.
Two-time Emmy nominee Ellie Kemper (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt) stars as Helen, alongside Luke Grimes (Yellowstone) and Nico Santos (Crazy Rich Asians). Blythe Danner, Aaron Weiner and Alexander Koch also feature.
