Exploding Kittens is an upcoming adult-animated comedy TV series from Shane Kosakowski and Matthew Inman for Netflix. It is based on the massively successful card game where players pick cards until someone gets an exploding kitten card. If you get it, you are out, unless you have a defuse card. This lets you stop the explosion with feline-adored classics like laser pointers, belly rubs or catnip sandwiches. Kosakowski has previously written on such TV shows as Archer and You're The Worst while Inman is the original creator of the Exploding Kittens game. Inman also serves as an executive producer on the TV series alongside Chernin Entertainment and comedy legends Mike Judge and Greg Daniels' company, Bandera Entertainment. The latter duo are responsible for working on some of the most beloved comedy TV shows of the modern age including Beavis & Butthead, King of the Hill and The Office.
Tom Ellis voices the lead role in Exploding Kittens as GodCat. He is best known for portraying the fallen archangel Lucifer in the titular series which ran from 2016-2018 on Fox before being revived by Netflix from 2019-2021. The rest of the voice cast includes Lucy Liu, Abraham Lim, Ally Maki, Mark Proksch, David Gborie and Sasheer Zamata.
