Disney’s film reimagining of the Haunted Mansion ride features a star-studded cast including Rosario Dawson, Owen Wilson, and LaKeith Stanfield
Haunted Mansion is a horror comedy film produced by Walt Disney Pictures. The film is based on the Haunted Mansion Disneyland ride, which has been a big attraction in the amusement park since 1969. In 2003, a Haunted Mansion film was made starring Eddie Murphy, however the 2023 version has a completely different plot. Justin Simien helms the production as director, after successfully writing and directing the 2014 film Dear White People and the Netflix series of the same name. Katie Dippold, who co-wrote the Ghostbusters reboot, writes Haunted Mansion’s screenplay.
Rosario Dawson stars as the single mother Gabbie who unwittingly moves into the Haunted Mansion with her son Travis, played by Chase Dillon. The host of paranormal practitioners include LaKeith Stanfield as Ben, an expert in all things paranormal, Owen Wilson as Ken the priest, Tiffany Haddish as the psychic Harriet, and Dany DeVito as a college history professor. The film also features appearances from Jared Leto, Jamie Lee Curtis, Winona Ryder, Dan Levy, and Hasan Minhaj.
