10 Best Movies like Hit Man and Where to Watch Them

Richard Linklater’s Hit Man is out on Netflix and to put it simply, it’s a “hit, man!”. The delightful crime comedy starring Glen Powell has been winning over critics and audiences, emerging as one of the freshest Hollywood movies of the year. Powell plays an ever-smiling psychology professor who also works as an undercover hitman for the police. But when a chance encounter with a client (Adria Arjona) makes him break protocol, a chaotic love story follows.

If you enjoyed this new Netflix release, then we have ten similar movies for you to watch. Discover where to stream these movies like Hit Man using OTT services like Netflix and Prime Video!

    Everybody Wants Some!!

Everybody Wants Some!! was the first collaboration between Hit Man director Richard Linklater and star/co-writer Glen Powell. The breezy coming-of-age comedy follows the ups and downs in the life of college students growing up in the 1980s.

    In Bruges

The morality of killing in Hit Man is echoed in In Bruges, a delightful dark comedy that pairs two assassin friends (Brendan Gleeson and Colin Farrell in their first collaboration before 2022’s The Banshees of Inisherin) against each other. In Bruges is crude, dark, and hilarious.

    The Killer

If you want a recent Netflix movie about professional killing, you can watch David Fincher’s The Killer right after Hit Man. While The Killer isn’t that funny or optimistic, it still takes a satirical and philosophical look at the career of a hit man. Michael Fassbender offers a subtle yet power-packed performance in the lead role.

    Before Sunrise

The meet-cute romance that blossoms between Powell and Arjona’s characters in Hit Man shows that Linklater still has the love bug from the Before trilogy. The romantic franchise started with Before Sunrise, a dialogue-heavy romance that follows the accidental meeting of Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy's protagonist. One thing leads to another and we get a short-lived but unforgettable love story.

    Fallen Angels

Fallen Angels is one of Hong Kong director Wong Kar-wai’s most visually-arresting romantic dramas to watch. Much like Hit Man, the neon-lit masterpiece explores the inner conflicts of an assassin by throwing a romantic angle.

    Pulp Fiction

Quentin Tarantino’s breakout hit Pulp Fiction paired John Travolta alongside Samuel L Jackson as a duo of stylish, bumbling, and unintentionally comedic assassins. The movie just went on to humanise contract killers as people who can mess up just like the rest of us.

    BlacKkKlansman

Spike Lee’s Oscar-winning epic addresses the true story of a daring police detective who went undercover to infiltrate a white supremacist organisation. If Hit Man intrigued you to watch more movies about the risks of undercover operations, BlacKkKlansman should be your next watch. It is dramatic and comedic in equal measure, powered by memorable performances by John David Washington and Adam Driver.

    Top Gun: Maverick

Glen Powell’s stardom has been firmly established with Hit Man. But he has been making his presence felt lately even in supporting roles. The biggest example is Top Gun: Maverick in which he could stand out even in front of a Hollywood titan like Tom Cruise.

    Kill Dil

This underrated Hindi gem stars Ranveer Singh and Ali Zafar as a pair of kind-hearted but very professional assassins. When one of them falls in love, they draw the wrath from their criminal boss. It’s like Hit Man but with a good dose of Bollywood masala!

    Set It Up

If you need more Glen Powell movies to watch after Hit Man on Netflix, check out this delightful rom-com from 2018. Powell and Zoey Deutch play two frustrated office workers who try to set up their stress-inducing bosses with each other. But this game of corporate matchmaking gets complicated when the protagonists themselves start falling for each other.

How To Watch The Bad Boys Movies In Order: A Complete Streaming Guide

“Bad Boys, Bad Boys, whatcha gonna do? Whatcha gonna do when they come for you?!”

The first Bad Boys movie premiered in 1995 starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence as fellow cops who embark on (quite literally) explosive missions throughout Miami. Benefiting greatly from the central chemistry of its two leads, the Bad Boy franchise has emerged as one of the highest-grossing action series in Hollywood.

To celebrate the release of its latest installment Bad Boys: Ride or Die, have a look at how and where you can stream all the Bad Boys movies in the right order using services like Netflix and Prime Video. Put your seatbelt on. This will be a bumpy ride!

How to watch the Bad Boys movies in chronological order

The chronological order of the Bad Boys franchise is the same as its release order:

The franchise began with Michael Bay directing Bad Boys. The action comedy introduced the Miami-based narcotics detectives Mike Lowery (Will Smith) and Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence). Even though Mike and Marcus have hilarious disagreements and ideological differences, the two partners have their back through thick and thin.

While the first movie found them trailing a criminal involved in stealing government money and dealing heroin, Bad Boys II raised the stakes. With Michael Bay returning as director, the 2003 sequel found the heroes investigating the flow of drugs into Miami. Car chases and explosions were doubled up a notch this time.

The Bad Boys returned more than a decade later with the 2020 hit Bad Boys For Life. Even though Mike and Marcus are older, they still have what it takes to take down criminals in style. The stakes were more personal this time with Mike forced to confront his estranged son.

The events of the third movie directly influenced the latest sequel Bad Boys: Ride or Die, as their former boss is falsely implicated for crimes he didn’t commit. Smith and Lawrence’s heroes become fugitives of the law to clear his name. Both Bad Boys For Life and Bad Boys: Ride or Die are directed by the duo Adil & Bilall. Still, watch out for Michael Bay cameoing in both of these movies!

How to watch all the Bad Boys movies online and in order

The list below gives you all the information that you need to stream the Bad Boys movies on several OTT platforms in India. We also provide you with deals to buy, rent, or watch these movies for free. If you like to watch action comedies, a Bad Boy binge watch should be in your weekend plan!

How (and Where) to Watch Every Star Trek Movie and TV Show In Order

    “Live long and prosper.”

This iconic line from Star Trek holds true for the franchise as well. Starting from the original 1966 series and continuing with big-budget films by JJ Abrams, Star Trek has endured for decades. Perhaps only rivaled by Star Wars, it remains one of the biggest and most diverse sci-fi franchises of all time. The original series and reboot movies revolved around the interplanetary adventures of the spaceship USS Enterprise, introducing unforgettable crew members like Captain James T. Kirk and his loyal First Officer Spock. However, since then, the franchise has also gone on to incorporate many other storylines with sequels, prequels, and spinoffs.

Confused about starting your Star Trek journey? Let our streaming guide show you how and where to watch all Star Trek movies and TV shows in India using services like Netflix and Prime Video!

How to watch the Star Trek franchise in chronological order

Following the numerous Star Trek movies and TV shows can be quite confusing for beginners. But if you want to stick to chronology, here is the order in which you should watch Star Trek:

    Alternate Timeline/Reboot Movies:

The multiple Star Trek properties would be too much to take in so, it’s best to divide them into multiple continuities.

    The Pre-Original Series Continuity

The TV show Star Trek: Enterprise is set a hundred years before the adventures of Kirk and Spock. Instead of the USS Enterprise, the crew of the series steers an older version of the Enterprise in the year 2151.

The events of the series are then followed by the first two seasons of Star Trek: Discovery (set aboard the USS Discovery) and the ongoing TV series Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.

    • Star Trek: Enterprise

    • Star Trek: Discovery (Seasons 1-2)

    • Star Trek: Strange New Worlds

    The Original Series Continuity

The original Star Trek series kicks off in the year 2265 and was followed by an animated series which in turn was followed by six films. The cast and crew is mostly recurring throughout this continuity. This glorious first run of the franchise is regarded as the very best by many within the fandom.

    • Star Trek: The Original Series

    • Star Trek: The Animated Series

    • Star Trek: The Motion Picture

    • Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan

    • Star Trek III: The Search For Spock

    • Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home

    • Star Trek V: The Final Frontier

    • Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country

    The Star Trek Reboot Continuity

The three Star Trek movies by JJ Abrams reboot the entire franchise and take place in an alternate timeline. Expect Easter Eggs and cameos from the Original Series but still remember this is a whole different continuity. In this sense, even beginners with no prior Star Trek knowledge can watch this trilogy.

    • Star Trek

    • Star Trek Into the Darkness

    • Star Trek Beyond

    The Next Generation/Picard Continuity

After The Original Series, Star Trek: The Next Generation covered the events from 2364 onwards. With Patrick Stewart playing the heroic Enterprise captain Jean-Luc Picard, this series appealed to a new generation of fans and was followed by successful movies like First Contact and Nemesis. The Prime Video series titled Picard is set two decades after the events of Nemesis and continues the future whereabouts of Picard and his crew.

    • Star Trek Generations

    • Star Trek: First Contact

    • Star Trek: Insurrection

    • Star Trek: Nemesis

    • Star Trek: Picard

    Deep Space Nine Continuity

Taking place mostly in the titular spacecraft, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine is chronologically set between the events of Nemesis and Picard. It was followed by a direct sequel series Star Trek Voyager.

Kate Mulgrew’s Captain Kathryn Janeway was the lead of Voyager, a role she reprised in the 3D animated series Star Trek: Prodigy (that introduced a younger generation of Star Trek heroes).

25 Best Rekha Movies and Where to Watch Them

Rekha, one of Bollywood's most iconic and versatile actresses, has had a career spanning over five decades. Known for her captivating screen presence, remarkable acting prowess, and timeless beauty, Rekha has become a legend in Indian cinema. If you are a fan of this Bollywood veteran, our guide takes you through her best movies to watch and all the options to stream them in India.

Which Rekha movies should I watch first?

Rekha, born Bhanurekha Ganesan, made her acting debut as a child artist in the Telugu film Rangula Ratnam (1966). However, her first leading role in Bollywood came with the film Sawan Bhadon (1970).

One of best earliest performances to watch is Ghar (1978) where she played the role of Aarti, a sexual assault survivor. The film dealt with sensitive issues and the aftermath of the assault on a couple’s life. Rekha’s portrayal of vulnerability and strength earned her critical acclaim and established her as a serious actress.

Her role in Muqaddar Ka Sikandar (1978) further solidified her status as a leading lady in Bollywood. Playing Zohra Bai, a courtesan with a heart of gold, Rekha delivered a performance that was both poignant and powerful. Her on-screen chemistry with Amitabh Bachchan was particularly praised, marking the beginning of a successful on-screen pairing.

The 1981 film Umrao Jaan is perhaps Rekha's most iconic role. As the courtesan and poetess Umrao Jaan, Rekha delivered a career-defining performance that won her the National Film Award for Best Actress. Her portrayal of the character’s grace, tragedy, and resilience remains unparalleled and is celebrated as one of the finest performances in Indian cinema.

Rekha continued to showcase her versatility with films like the romantic comedy Khubsoorat (1980), a light-hearted family drama where she played the lively and mischievous Manju. Her performance brought a refreshing charm to the film, earning her a Filmfare Award for Best Actress.

In Khoon Bhari Maang (1988), Rekha took on a more intense role as Aarti Verma, a woman seeking revenge after being betrayed and left for dead. This transformation from a victim to a vengeful survivor displayed her ability to tackle complex and powerful roles.

Rekha's performance in Silsila (1981) remains one of her most memorable. The film, which explored themes of love and infidelity, featured Rekha in a nuanced role that highlighted her ability to convey deep emotions. Her chemistry with Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan added layers to the film's dramatic narrative.

In her later career, Rekha continued to take on diverse roles, such as in Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi (1996), where she played a formidable antagonist. Her presence in the film industry remains significant, with her performances in films like the sci-fi coming-of-age drama Koi…Mil Gaya (2003) (and its 2006 sequel Krrish) and the family comedy Super Nani (2014) demonstrating her enduring talent and appeal.

Why is Umrao Jaan’s Rekha’s best movie to watch?

Umrao Jaan endures as a fascinating period piece featuring Rekha in her more graceful avatar. Her portrayal of the character’s grace, tragedy, and resilience remains unparalleled and is celebrated as one of the finest performances in Indian cinema.

  • How to Watch The LEGO Movies In Order: A Complete Streaming Guide

How to Watch The LEGO Movies In Order: A Complete Streaming Guide

From Star Wars to Marvel and DC, LEGO toy sets have collaborated with all major pop culture trendsetters; the animated LEGO movies blend the best of these worlds, ranging from the stellar multi-franchise fanfare of 2014’s The LEGO Movie to standalone character movies like The LEGO Batman Movie. Even LEGO’s own exclusive line of Ninja-related toys (Ninjago) has got the big screen treatment.

If you are a fan of the LEGO movies, our streaming guide will show you how and where to stream all the LEGO movies in order using services like Netflix and Prime Video.

How to watch the LEGO movie franchise in chronological order

The LEGO movie franchise includes two directly-connected movies and two spin-offs. This is the chronological order to watch them.

Standalone: The LEGO Ninjago Movie (2017)

The LEGO movie franchise began with 2014’s The LEGO Movie, an adventure comedy starring Chris Pratt as Emmet, an ordinary construction worker who becomes the unexpected saviour of LEGO City. His dimension-hopping adventures make him cross paths with a “Master Builder” called Lucy (Elizabeth Banks) and the masked superhero Batman (Will Arnett).

The 2014 blockbuster was followed by a direct spinoff aptly titled The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part. The sequel had Emmett and his friends fighting off an army of space invaders. Interestingly, these villains from outer space are toys from the LEGO’s Duplo toy line for toddlers.

Two spin-offs were also released in between these two movies. The first was The LEGO Batman Movie focusing on the titular DC hero. Chronologically, the movie is set a few years before The LEGO Movie, and covers Batman’s crime fighting adventures in a LEGO version of Gotham City.

Another spinoff was The LEGO Ninjago movie, which was directly inspired by the Ninja-themed line of LEGO toys. Dave Franco led the voice cast as the son of an evil mastermind who must fight against his dad’s villainous forces. Martial arts legend Jackie Chan also starred as a kung fu master.

Even though the LEGO Ninjago toys already spawned a famous TV series of the same name, The LEGO Ninjago Movie is unconnected to the show and was revealed to be connected to the LEGO Movie franchise instead. However, its connection to The LEGO Movie timeline is unspecified and it can be watched as a standalone installment.

Does the LEGO Movie franchise include any TV shows?

While there have been several LEGO TV shows in the past, there has been only one that is directly related to the movie franchise. This is the three-season-long kids’ cartoon Unikitty, featuring the friendly unicorn-cat hybrid from The LEGO Movie. While Alison Brie voiced Princess Unikitty in the original movies, Tara Strong voices the character in this Cartoon Network original.

  • How to Watch All the Dune Movies and TV Shows In Order

How to Watch All the Dune Movies and TV Shows In Order

Frank Herbert’s 1965 epic sci-fi novel Dune inspired many film franchises, ranging from George Lucas’ Star Wars movies to Denis Villeneuve’s own stunning adaptation of the book. But even before Villeneuve, many other directors have attempted to take on the Dune novels. These ranged from unreleased attempts (like the one being made by Alejandro Jodorowsky) to an ill-received adaptation by David Lynch. The mythological lore of Herbert’s novel (and its sequels) is such that it has also inspired several TV shows.

If you wish to be up-to-date with the current Dune franchise, our guide shows you how to stream all the Dune movies and TV shows in order!

How to watch the Dune movies and TV shows in chronological order

While most of the early Dune adaptations make for standalone watches, it’s Denis Villeneuve’s Dune that has the makings of a shared universe. This is how his franchise looks at the moment:

Denis Villeneuve adapted Frank Herbert’s Dune as a two-part saga starting with Dune and Dune: Part Two. The Canadian filmmaker is currently working on a third movie called Dune: Messiah which will be a direct sequel (adapting Herbert’s novel of the same name).

Timothée Chalamet leads the franchise as the protagonist Paul Atreides, a royal heir who is also believed to be a messiah-like figure to a nomadic desert tribe called the Fremen. Fulfilling his legacy as the “chosen one”, Paul becomes a freedom fighter as he leads the Fremen against the oppressive military faction of the Harkonnens. The Dune movies are filled with epic battle scenes, philosophical ideas, and some memorable “Sandworm-riding scenes”. Chalamet is joined by a high-profile cast that includes Zendaya, Javier Bardem, Austin Butler, Rebecca Ferguson, and many more.

The Max TV series Dune: Prophecy is also a part of the movie continuity. Slated for a 2024 release, the series is set 10,000 years before the Dune movies and explores the origins of the ominous all-women sect Bene Gesserit.

What are the other Dune movies and TV shows I can watch?

David Lynch’s Dune was the first film adaptation of the novel. Adapting the entirety of Frank Herbert’s first Dune novel, the space opera mostly garnered mixed reviews from critics and audiences alike.

As for TV adaptations, there were two shows in the early 2000s. The first one was Frank Herbert’s Dune (another adaptation of the first novel) followed by Frank Herbert’s Children of the Dune (an adaptation of the novels Dune: Messiah and Children of the Dune). The latter is notable for starring X-Men actor James McAvoy as one of Paul Atreides’ successors.

If you are interested in knowing more about Alejandro Jodorowsky’s failed Dune adaptation, the documentary Jodorowsky’s Dune will also be an engaging watch.

  • How to Watch All The Indiana Jones Movies In Order

How to Watch All The Indiana Jones Movies In Order

It was in the 1980s when Harrison Ford donned the iconic hat and whip for the first time, introducing the world to the dashing archeologist-adventurer Indiana Jones. Following the success of Raiders of the Lost Ark, the Indiana Jones franchise went on to spawn four more movies. Each movie finds the charming hero take on historical expeditions all across the globe with one even being in India.

If you want to get started with this classic franchise, our guide takes you through all the Indiana Jones movies in order and shows you how and where to stream them in India using platforms like Prime Video and Netflix!

How to watch the Indiana Jones movies in chronological order

You can watch the entire Indiana Jones franchise in the same order as their release date:

There are five movies in the series so far starting with Raiders of the Lost Ark and concluding with Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. All five movies star Harrison Ford in the titular role.

The first movie introduces Indiana Jones as a daring adventurer who collects precious artifacts from all over the world. He also goes against evil forces who might use these same artifacts for their own villainous purposes. In Raiders of the Lost Ark, he faces off against Nazi forces as they seek a mystical Ark that’s mentioned in the Bible. Karen Allen also stars as Jones’ fellow adventurer and romantic interest Marion Ravenwood.

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom takes the action to India with Jones pitted against a black magic cult. Legendary Bollywood actor Amrish Puri played the antagonist even though the film’s stereotypical depictions of Indian culture haven’t aged well. Oscar winner Ke Huy-Quan also notably starred as Jones’ young accomplice named Short Round.

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade has him fighting the Nazis again, this time searching for another Biblical artifact: the mythical cup known as the Holy Grail. The opening sequence also offers a flashback to Jones' younger years while the rest of the movie introduces James Bond actor Sean Connery as the hero’s father Henry Jones Sr.

For more than a decade, the franchise began resting until Spielberg and Ford reunited for a fourth part in 2008. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull introduced Jones’ son Mutt Williams. Together with his now-wife Marion and his son, Jones searches for an alien skull while fighting off Russian KGB agents.

While the 2008 film was set in 1957, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny shifted the action to 1969. A much-older Indiana Jones is on the brink of retirement this time only to run into Nazis yet again. With a time-changing device driving the story, Jones also crosses paths with his goddaughter Helena Shaw (played by Fleabag star Phoebe Waller-Bridge). The 2023 release seemingly concluded the “Indy” saga but there is a possibility for Helena to lead her standalone adventures in the future.

The first four Indiana Jones were directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Steven Spielberg while the fifth one was directed by James Mangold. Spielberg’s longtime collaborator John Williams also composed the music for all five movies, scoring the quintessential Indiana Jones theme music.

Where to watch all the Indiana Jones movies online

The list below offers all the streaming information you need to watch the Indiana Jones movies in order of their release order. We also provide you with offers to buy or rent them on several OTT platforms in India. Get your hat on and let Dr. Jones give you the most exciting history lessons!

  • Where to Watch The Fifty Shades of Grey Movies In Order

Where to Watch The Fifty Shades of Grey Movies In Order

Based on the best-selling novels by E.L. James, the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy dominated the 2010s with the chemistry between its leads and an original soundtrack with hits like Ellie Goulding’s “Love Me Like You Do” and the Taylor Swift-Zayn Malik duet “I Don’t Want To Live Forever”. Starring Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson, the three Fifty Shades of Grey movies detail the sexual and romantic relationship between charming billionaire Christian Grey and naive literature student Anastasia Steele.

If you are intrigued by this steamy franchise, our guide takes you through where to stream all the Fifty Shades of Grey movies in the right order using services like Netflix, Prime Video and more!

How to watch the Fifty Shades of Grey movies in chronological order

One can watch the Fifty Shades movies in the same order as their release date.

The Fifty Shades franchise is pretty straightforward with no prequels or spinoffs in between. Even though E.L. James authored spinoffs like Grey (which recounted the original trilogy’s events but from Christian Grey’s perspective instead of Anastasia’s), the franchise seems to have halted after Fifty Shades Freed.

All three movies explore the ups and downs of a complicated relationship between Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson’s protagonists. While Grey shares a fascination for BDSM-inspired practices of bondage and submission, his sexual-turned romantic feelings for Anastasia make this trilogy all the more dramatic (and steamier).

While the Fifty Shades trilogy hasn’t entertained the best of critics’ reviews, all three movies have gone on to be commercially successful. Thanks to its memorable songs and a few iconic scenes, the series has also gone on to entertain a cult fanbase. Sam Taylor-Johnson directed Fifty Shades of Grey while the two sequels were directed by James Foley.

Where can I watch all the Fifty Shades of Grey movies online?

If you too wish to get chained to this adult franchise, the list below shows you how to watch every Fifty Shades movie in India. We provide you with all the offers to stream, buy or rent these movies in their chronological and release order.

  • 10 Best Movies Like Godzilla Minus One (and Where to Stream Them)

10 Best Movies Like Godzilla Minus One (and Where to Stream Them)

Godzilla Minus One was a breakout hit in 2023, eventually winning an Oscar for Best Visual Effects. Set in the aftermath of the Second World War, Godzilla Minus One follows a grief-struck pilot as he aims to take on a mysterious reptile that has surfaced in the sea. The Japanese movie was acclaimed for balancing monster action with human drama.

As Godzilla Minus One is finally available to stream on Netflix, here are ten other movies that you can watch once you have finished the 2023 monster hit. We also show you all the platforms where you can stream or rent these movies online right now.

    Shin Godzilla

With Godzilla and many other nuclear creatures wreaking havoc in present-day Tokyo, Shin Godzilla played out as a nail biting political thriller detailing the military and government plans to eliminate these gigantic threats.

    Oppenheimer

Christopher Nolan’s Oscar-winning war epic on the man who created the atom bomb stars Cillian Murphy in an unforgettable performance. What makes Oppenheimer a good companion watch to Godzilla Minus One is its philosophical commentary on weapons. Instead of glorifying J Robert Oppenheimer’s destructive creations, the biopic also holds a mirror to the guilt that burdened him.

    Grave of the Fireflies

Grave of the Fireflies is an ‘80s anime classic with a heavily emotional ending. Set during the Second World War, the movie follows the daunting journey of a brother-sister duo as they escape air raids and bombings. The struggles of Godzilla Minus One’s protagonist in saving his adopted family from Godzilla is heavily reminiscent of the drama in this anime film.

    Top Gun: Maverick

As much as it’s a monster movie, Godzilla Minus One is also a thrilling pilot movie. With the protagonist introduced as a kamikaze (self-bombing) pilot, his flying techniques play a major role in fighting Godzilla. If you need more movies that take their action to the skies, Tom Cruise’s beloved Top Gun sequel should definitely be on your watch list.

    Kong: Skull Island

Before Godzilla Minus One blended wartime drama with creature horror, Kong Skull Island tried to do the same. A reboot of the King Kong franchise, this Brie Larson and Tom Hiddleston-led drama pitted a group of American soldiers against the giant ape in the wake of the Vietnam War.

    Jaws

From the frightening hum of the shark’s arrival to a boat-crew’s strategies to hunt down the beast, a lot of Jaws’ classic elements find their way into Godzilla Minus One. Watch this iconic Steven Spielberg horror but be warned if sharks scare you!

    Reign of Fire

A pre-Batman Christian Bale leads a ragtag bunch of survivors in taking down a fire-breathing dragon in the near future. It’s like Godzilla Minus One but with dragons.

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire

Need more new Godzilla content after the 2023 blockbuster? Watch the latest Hollywood crossover then, teaming up the Japanese thermonuclear lizard with the ape of Skull Island. Big-budget chaos follows across the globe (yes, even the Pyramids get damaged in the process).

    Godzilla: The Planet Eater

Netflix offers some impeccable new-age Godzilla anime films with The Planet Eater perhaps being the best one. Watch it for a new and futuristic take on Godzilla lore.

    Godzilla

The film that started it all. Toho studio’s original Godzilla movie remains a cult classic. Much like Godzilla Minus One, the original was an anti-war drama and reflected the human cost of nuclear weapons testing. This makes for an essential watch for all monster movie fans, old and new.

Where can I watch movies like Godzilla Minus One online?

Check out the list below which gives you all the options to stream, buy, or rent these movies in India. We also provide information on any present offers that are available to watch these movies using platforms like Netflix, Prime Video and more!

Aditya Roy Kapur has established himself as a charismatic Bollywood star with roles in mainstream hits like Aashiqui 2 and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. Over the years, he has captivated audiences with his performances in a range of genres, from romantic dramas to action thrillers. If you are a fan of the Fitoor and Ok Jaanu actor, here’s a guide to his best roles so far. Our guide also shows you where you can watch these movies in India.

Which Aditya Roy Kapur movies should I watch first?

The best Aditya Roy Kapur movie to watch first is his breakthrough Aashiqui 2. The 2013 romantic drama was a remake of A Star Is Born and found Kapur playing the troubled alcoholic musician Rahul Jaykar.

Some of Aditya Roy Kapur’s earliest movies to watch include the 2009 musical film London Dreams and the 2010 Back to the Future remake Action Replayy. The latter found him playing Akshay Kumar’s on-screen son and gave him more visibility.

Following the success of Aashiqui 2, Kapur starred in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013), a coming-of-age film where he played the role of Avinash "Avi" Arora, a carefree and fun-loving character. His performance added a layer of depth to the film's ensemble cast, which included Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone.

Even though this film starred him in a supporting role, Kapur proved early on his affinity for playing non-lead parts. A quite underrated example is the 2010 tragic romance Guzaarish. Even though Hrithik Roshan led this Sanjay Leela Bhansali drama as a magician seeking euthanasia, Kapur also earned some positive reactions and a Filmfare Best Male Debut nomination for playing the protagonist’s friendly assistant.

Kapur's other notable romances include Ok Jaanu (2017), a remake of the Tamil rom-com O Kadhal Kanmani. Reuniting with his Aashiqui 2 co-star Shraddha Kapoor, he played the role of Adi, a young man navigating the challenges of modern relationships.

In 2020, Kapur also forayed in the action thriller genre with Malang. The pandemic release saw him in a more rugged and intense avatar. This film was a departure from his usual romantic roles and highlighted his versatility.

Another significant film in his career is Ludo (2020), an anthology black comedy film directed by Anurag Basu. Kapur played the role of Aakash Chauhan, a puppeteer entangled in a complex narrative with intersecting stories.

His filmography also includes Kalank (2019), a period drama set in pre-independent India. Kapur played the role of Dev Chaudhry, a man torn between duty and desire. His portrayal added a significant emotional weight to the film, which, despite mixed reviews, was praised for its grandeur and performances.

Has Aditya Roy Kapur acted in any TV shows?

Most recently, Kapur starred in the Hotstar original The Night Manager (2023), a Hindi adaptation of the British television series of the same name. The role of a sweet-talking hotel manager linked with an illegal arms dealer, marked a significant shift towards more mature and layered characters.

Why is Aashiqui 2 the best Aditya Roy Kapur movie to watch?

Aashiqui 2 not only established Aditya Roy Kapur as a leading actor but also showcased his ability to portray intense emotions. His chemistry with co-star Shraddha Kapoor was widely appreciated, and the film's music became immensely popular.

  • 30 of the Best Shashi Kapoor Movies (and Where to Watch Them)

30 of the Best Shashi Kapoor Movies (and Where to Watch Them)

Hailing from Bollywood royalty like the Kapoor family, Shashi Kapoor was quite different from his older brothers Raj and Shammi Kapoor. While Raj Kapoor juggled roles as actor, producer, and director, Shammi Kapoor was the showman. And then comes Shashi who was content at giving his all in both supporting and lead performances. It didn’t bother him if he was often overshadowed by frequent co-star Amitabh Bachchan. And not the one to get satisfied with mainstream projects, Shashi also emerged as one of the earliest Bollywood stars to act in cross-border productions.

Here’s the very best of Shashi Kapoor’s movies along with all the information you need to stream them.

Which Shashi Kapoor movies should I watch first?

To get a more mainstream understanding of Shashi Kapoor’s movies, it’s best to watch his most popular projects. These include a large share of Amitabh Bachchan-led dramas and thrillers like the ever-iconic Deewaar.

This Yash Chopra-directed classic stars Kapoor as a law-abiding police officer who must track down his estranged gangster brother played by Bachchan. Kapoor and Bachchan’s confrontational climax is immortalised today with the “Mere paas Maa hai” dialogue.

Other memorable collaborations with Bachchan included the spy thriller Shaan, the tragic romantic drama Kabhi Kabhie, the revenge saga Trishul, the miner rights’ drama Kaala Patthar, and the masala film Namak Halaal

Along with familiar genres like romance, crime, and drama, Shashi Kapoor was also actively involved in period dramas. These include a role as a freedom fighter alongside Dilip Kumar in Kranti, and a reckless feudal lord during the Revolt of 1857 in Junoon

Kapoor was also notably involved in collaborations with non-Indian filmmakers and actors. His own wife was British actress Jennifer Kendal who starred opposite him in Junoon. He also collaborated with Oscar-winner James Ivory for his 1966 drama Shakespeare Wallah that revolved around a travelling theatre group of Shakespearean actors in India.

The actor was also the lead in the Indo-American epic Siddhartha (based on Herman Hesse’s novel of the same name). Exploring Buddhist concepts of enlightenment, Siddhartha featured Kapoor as the titular prince searching for the meaning of life.

His other acclaimed but underrated projects include the erotic drama Utsav, the coming-of-age drama Vijeta, and the Yash Chopra-directed family drama Waqt. New Delhi Times is also a notable example with Kapoor’s performance of an investigative journalist earning him a National Award.

One of his unforgettable final performances was as an aging Urdu poet in In Custody, an adaptation of the Booker Prize-nominated novel of the same name.

In 1998, the drama Ghar Bazaar marked his final role with a special appearance. Following this, Kapoor retired from acting and was later honoured with a Filmfare Lifetime Achievement award in 2010.

Why is Deewaar the best Shashi Kapoor movie to watch?

While Shashi Kapoor’s acting range as a lead is the most impressive in Junoon and New Delhi Times, it’s Deewaar that makes him immortal. Yes, Amitabh Bachchan is the lead actor but it’s Kapoor’s earnest portrayal of Sub-Inspector Ravi Varma that is equally impactful. He is not only the ideal cop but the ideal son, tailoring Kapoor for morally righteous characters. With Yash Chopra’s dramatic direction and Salim-Javed’s quotable screenplay, Deewaar is an undisputed cult classic.

Where can you watch the best Shashi Kapoor movies online?

  • 30 Best Govinda Movies (and Where to Watch Them)

30 Best Govinda Movies (and Where to Watch Them)

Dominating the 1990s, Bollywood actor Govinda is known for his impeccable comic timing, energetic dance moves, and charismatic screen presence. The Hero No. 1, Bhagam Bhag, and Partner star has delivered numerous memorable performances over the years. Here’s a rundown of some of his best movies that have left a lasting impact on Indian cinema. Our guide also offers you the best platforms and deals to stream the best Govinda movies.

Which Govinda movies should I watch first?

To get started with Govinda, the quintessential movies to watch are his ‘90s romantic comedies (most of which were directed by David Dhawan). Coolie No. 1 (1995) is a cult favorite in this regard. This film showcases Govinda in a dual role that highlights his versatility. Playing a coolie who pretends to be a wealthy businessman to marry a rich girl, Govinda’s comedic antics, combined with Karisma Kapoor’s lively performance, made this film a major hit.

Another memorable collaboration with David Dhawan was in Hero No. 1 (1997) which starred Govinda as a wealthy, carefree young man who falls in love with a middle-class girl. His attempts to win over her family with his charm and wit, along with his impeccable comic timing, solidified his status as a comedy king.

Govinda’s characters in this era often shifted between streetsmart to incredibly foolish. For instance, in Dulhe Raja (1998), Govinda played a smart-talking street vendor who locks horns with a wealthy businessman. But in Saajan Chale Sasural (1996), Govinda’s performance as a simpleton who ends up with two wives unknowingly is both humorous and endearing. His chemistry with co-stars Tabu and Karisma Kapoor, coupled with the comedic situations, made this film a memorable entertainer.

Raja Babu (1994) similarly features Govinda as a village simpleton who tries to impress a sophisticated city girl. His comedic prowess and dance moves in songs like Sarkai Lo Khatiya are iconic.

But even in the 1990s, Govinda could occasionally break typecast as he took on action-oriented roles as a soldier in David Dhawan’s Shola Aur Shabnam (1992) and a vengeance-seeking brother in Hum (1991). In the latter, Govinda shared screen space and played an on-screen brother to Indian film veterans Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth.

Coming to the 2000s, Govinda’s comedy dominance began waning, barring memorable hits like Bhagam Bhag (2006) and Partner (2007).

In the Priyadarshan-directed comedy Bhagam Bhag, Govinda and Akshay Kumar play theater actors who get involved in a murder mystery. Govinda’s comic timing with Kumar was praised, and the film’s humorous plot kept audiences entertained.

In the years to follow, the comedy heavyweight took on supporting roles in relatively serious projects like Mani Ratnam’s tragic romance Raavan and AR Murugadoss’s action thriller Holiday. Taking on experimental comedy roles, he also voiced a bandit monkey in Delhi Safari and played a greedy film producer in Happy Ending.

Why is Partner the best Govinda movie to watch?

In this Hindi remake of the Will Smith-led comedy Hitch, Govinda teamed up with Salman Khan to play a lovable and naive office-worker who seeks help from a love guru to woo the woman of his dreams. This film, directed by David Dhawan, was a massive success and showcased Govinda’s ability to shine even in a multi-starrer. His hilarious dance moves in songs like “Soni Di Nakhre” aptly echoed his 90s stardom.

Where can I watch the best Govinda movies online?

The list below takes you through every major OTT service where you can watch Govinda’s filmography. We also provide you offers and deals to stream these movies online or rent or buy them in India.

  • 10 Best Raj and DK Movies and TV Shows (and Where to Watch Them)

10 Best Raj and DK Movies and TV Shows (and Where to Watch Them)

Raj and DK are perhaps the most consistent writer-director duo in the Hindi film and OTT space today. While they started out in 2003 with an under-the-radar NRI comedy called Flavors, Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K. began building their profile directing acclaimed low-budget features like 99 and Shor in the City. The zombie-comedy Go Goa Gone became a gamechanger and the duo hasn’t looked back ever since.

As they gear up to direct Citadel: Honey Bunny (the Indian spin-off of Prime Video’s Citadel), have a look at the best movies and TV shows they have been involved in. Our guide also offers you all the options to stream their filmography in India.

Which Raj and DK movies should I watch first?

Go Goa Gone is a must-watch for anyone new to Raj and DK’s filmography. The raunchy and violent zombie-comedy captures the duo’s quintessential style of dark comedy and genre thrills. Featuring memorable performances by Kunal Kemmu, Vir Das, and Saif Ali Khan as a Russian zombie hunter, Go Goa Gone marked a new shift in Indian adult comedies alongside films like Delhi Belly.

A more family-friendly horror comedy from Raj and DK that is equally entertaining is Stree. The first entry in the Dinesh Vijan-produced Horror Cinematic Universe, Stree roped in Raj and DK as screenwriters and co-producers with Amar Kaushik directing. Shraddha Kapoor starred as a charming witch in this rural fable of a man-hunting spirit with Rajkumar Rao playing the simpleton who falls in love with her.

But apart from Go Goa Gone and Stree, fans of Raj and DK must also watch their earlier works that blended elements of crime dramas with observational humour. Shor in the City is a fine example which brings out the urban chaos of Mumbai in the face of a kidnapping conspiracy. 99 plays out as a satire on cricket betting scandals.

Some other films after their mainstream fame include A Gentleman, an entertaining pastiche of James Bond-like spy thrillers with Siddharth Malhotra in the lead. The Amazon Prime anthology Unpaused also found them directing Glitch, a pandemic-inspired short film revolving around the phenomenon of virtual reality-dating.

Which Raj and DK TV shows should I watch first?

Almost every TV show that Raj and DK have worked on has become a streaming hit. It all started with their Prime Video thriller The Family Man, a spy drama starring Manoj Bajpayee as a covert security operative. While the show is heavy on action and conspiracy, The Family Man also takes out time to touch upon the everyday life of Bajpayee’s protagonist with hilarious results.

Farzi was their second effort for Prime, which notably featured Shahid Kapoor alongside Tamil actor Vijay Sethupathi. An underdog story disguised as a crime thriller, Farzi found Kapoor’s antihero creating a business around fake currency notes while Sethupathi played the law-abiding cop tracking him down.

If success on Prime wasn’t enough, the duo also served as showrunners for the stylish ‘90s-set crime thriller Guns & Gulaabs. Heavily inspired by the Bollywood “masala” movies of the era, the Netflix original had ample amounts of the Raj & DK tropes: nail-biting thrills, eccentric criminals, and some blood-soaked comedy.

Why is Farzi the best Raj and DK collaboration?

When it comes to delivering an all-out entertainer, Raj and DK perhaps succeeded the most with Farzi. Following a Breaking Bad-like underdog journey in the crime world, Farzi balances both humour and drama in equal amounts. An easily binge-worthy watch.

Where can I watch Raj and DK’s movies and TV shows online?

The list below guides you through all the OTT platforms where you can stream, buy or rent the best movies and TV shows by Raj and DK.

  • 10 Best TV Shows to Watch If You Like Paatal Lok (and Where to Stream Them)

10 Best TV Shows to Watch If You Like Paatal Lok (and Where to Stream Them)

One of the finest Hindi crime dramas on streaming, Paatal Lok, premiered in 2020. But the show’s cult status makes it regularly trend on the Indian streaming charts. The gritty police procedural finds two morally righteous policemen (Jaideep Ahlawat and Ishwak Singh) investigating an assassination attempt on a journalist. But as the plot thickens, the cops question their morals in front of a society breaking down with religious intolerance, casteism, and corrupt bureaucracy.

If you love the Amazon Prime Video original, we offer you many other shows similar to Paatal Lok and where to stream them.

    Kohrra

Created by Paatal Lok showrunner Sudip Sharma, Kohrra investigates the dark side of Punjab. Much like Sharma’s previous show, Kohrra’s leads include a veteran cop and his relatively innocent rookie. As they dig deeper into the disappearance of a bridegroom, they fall into the depths of toxic masculinity and the troubled history of the Indian state.

    The Broken News

If you loved Jaideep Ahlawat’s convincing lead performance as Hathiram Chaudhary in Paatal Lok, you should also watch the ZEE5 original The Broken News. Exploring the sensationalism of Indian TV news, Ahlawat delivers another masterclass performance as a top-ranking channel’s editor.

    True Detective

Fans of Paatal Lok seeking some shows from the West must try out a few seasons of True Detective. The HBO anthology series is similar in tone as a slow-burning investigative drama. The lead characters are often morally broken individuals with each season delving into the psychological impact a crime can have on the investigator.

    Sacred Games

In terms of the social issues Paatal Lok addresses with its violent storyline, Sacred Games makes for a perfect companion watch. The first-ever Indian Netflix original, this Emmy-nominated series is a binge-worthy thriller with Saif Ali Khan playing an obsessive cop and Nawazuddin Siddiqui as a megalomaniac gangster.

    Adhura

Ishwak Singh was the breakout star of Paatal Lok, thanks to his performance as Hathiram’s rookie Imran Ansari. To get more of him in the thriller genre, watch the supernatural mystery Adhura. The Prime Video series finds Singh playing a man who revisits his school after decades. But when strange things begin occurring, the mysterious protagonist must question his actions from years ago.

    Taj Mahal 1989

Neeraj Kabi played a journalist who becomes the target of a bigger mystery in Paatal Lok. But the veteran theatre, TV, and film actor has also shown in vastly different roles in the OTT space. If you need more of Kabi’s dramatic energy, Taj Mahal 1989 can be a good watch to begin with. The Netflix romantic anthology is set in the titular year and stars Kabi as a poetic middle-aged teacher.

    Scoop

Along with criminal investigation, Paatal Lok is also an interesting show to know more about the current state of Indian journalism. The fact-based thriller Scoop is a similar example recounting an investigative journalist’s struggle to prove her innocence after she’s falsely accused of murder.

    Mirzapur

While it is pulpier and bloodier than Paatal Lok, Mirzapur makes for an entertaining watch if you need more popular Indian crime thrillers on Amazon Prime.

    Delhi Crime

Much like Paatal Lok’s lead characters, Delhi Crime humanises its khaki-wearing protagonists without any forced glamorisation. Shefali Shah leads a talented ensemble with a story that draws on some of Delhi’s most shocking cases.

    Rocket Boys

Apart from Paatal Lok, Ishwak Singh’s other notable performances include his portrayal of nuclear scientist Vikram Sarabhai in the period drama Rocket Boys. Recounting the early years of India’s first nuclear programme, this Rocket Boys is uplifting, informative, and truly binge-worthy.

In the list below, we offer you all the options on where to watch these shows in India.

Luffy and his crew of Straw Hat Pirates, One Piece is set in the grand sea route of the Grand Line as these heroic pirates set out to find the anime’s titular treasure. How to watch the One Piece franchise in chronological order

Beginners must watch the ongoing One Piece anime arcs in the same order as their release date. The show largely follows chronological sequences with some episodes revealing crucial backstories. • 25 Best Kay Kay Menon Movies and TV Shows (and Where to Watch Them)

25 Best Kay Kay Menon Movies and TV Shows (and Where to Watch Them)

From an ad man to a theatre performer to a promising TV actor to one of modern Bollywood’s finest character actors, Kay Kay Menon has come a long way. While he has become a household name with unforgettable performances in Black Friday, Haider, and Shaurya, the actor has also transitioned to the OTT space with both supporting and lead roles in TV series across various streaming platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Hotstar and more. If you are a fan of Kay Kay Menon, our guide takes you through his best movies and shows along with all the options to stream them in India.

Which Kay Kay Menon movies should I watch first?

Kay Kay Menon is an actor who has never shied away from dark, gritty, and violent subject matter. So, his crime thrillers are the best movies to watch first. His collaborations with director Anurag Kashyap shine in this regard, whether it be his performance as a morally troubled cop investigating terrorist bombings in Black Friday or a hot-headed right-wing Rajput leader in Gulaal.

Interestingly enough, Menon also starred in Kashyap’s debut film Paanch. But the crime thriller never saw an official release as the Indian censor board didn’t approve it.

Much like his haunting performance in Gulaal, Menon went on to play iconic villains in many mainstream and lesser-known films. Some of his best performances in negative roles include that of a hot-headed army officer in Shaurya (a remake of A Few Good Men), an egoistic dancer in Remo D’Souza’s dance musical ABCD: Anybody Can Dance, a high-profile terrorist in Baby, and a scheming uncle to the titular hero in Haider.

Haider, in particular, remains one of his career-best performances. Nominated for a Filmfare, Menon played the villain to Shahid Kapoor’s Haider in this Kashmir-set adaptation of William Shakespeare’s Hamlet.

Menon’s other memorable roles include that of a gangster’s sleazy elder son in Sarkar, an awkward, newly-married husband in Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd, and a psychologically-burdened police officer in Vodka Diaries.

Which Kay Kay Menon TV shows should I watch first?

Kay Kay Menon has also had a memorable OTT run playing a ruthless gangster in the Prime Video thriller Farzi and a heroic railway officer in the Netflix disaster drama The Railway Men. You should watch both of these critically acclaimed shows first and then follow it with other integral performances in the Hotstar spy thriller Special Ops and the Netflix anthology drama Ray

Why is Black Friday Kay Kay Menon’s best movie to watch?

With an unflinching portrayal of a cop driven to his limits, Black Friday is a nail biting recounting of the real-life 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts. Told from the narratives of multiple people involved in its aftermath, Anurag Kashyap’s gritty thriller has only aged better over the years.

Where can I watch the best Kay Kay Menon movies and TV shows online?

  • Every Ashutosh Gowariker Movie Ranked (and Where to Watch Them)

Every Ashutosh Gowariker Movie Ranked (and Where to Watch Them)

Ashutosh Gowariker enjoys the rare distinction of directing one of the three Indian movies that went to the Oscars as a Best International Feature nominee. While he achieved this feat with the cricket-centric period epic Lagaan: Once Upon A Time in India, he has also delivered critically acclaimed picks like Swades and Jodhaa Akbar. Here’s the definitive look at all the movies directed by Ashutosh Gowariker as we show you how and where to stream them all in India.

From Lagaan to Swades: Which Ashutosh Gowariker movies should you watch first?

Initially starting out as an actor in side roles, Ashutosh Gowariker took to directing with the 1993 thriller Pehla Nasha (a remake of Brian De Palma’s Body Double) and the 1995 action flick Baazi (strongly inspired by Zanjeer and Die Hard). Given the derivative influences of these two movies, they didn’t help Gowariker stand out much. You can mostly watch them in the end because his best movies only came later in the 2000s.

An unbroken creative streak in the early 2000s came with the big three in Gowariker’s filmography: Lagaan (2001), Swades (2004) and Jodhaa Akbar (2008). Lagaan was set in the times of colonial India and revolved around a cricket match between the British officials and Indian villagers. The freedom struggle and economic exploitation added further drama in this Aamir Khan-led drama. Its eventual nomination at the Oscars went on to establish Gowariker’s career.

But an even more emotional and dramatic work was his Lagaan follow-up Swades. Starring Shah Rukh Khan in one of his more controlled performances, Swades covered the journey of a NASA scientist who returns to India after a long stint in America. Rediscovering his roots and advocating social reform in his homeland, Khan’s Mohan Bhargav becomes a changed man.

Gowariker’s next project Jodhaa Akbar found him revisiting his Lagaan roots as a director of period epics. With sprawling set pieces to recreate the grandeur of the Mughal Empire, Gowariker directed Hrithik Roshan as the powerful emperor Akbar and Aishwarya Rai as his wife, the Rajput princess Jodha Bai. Fictionalising their turbulent love affair alongside ambitious battle sequences, the director delivered a full-fledged blockbuster.

His next film Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey was another historical drama, this time focusing on the 1930 raid of a British armory in Chittagong led by the freedom fighter Surya Sen. Abhishek Bachchan starred as Sen while Deepika Padukone played fellow activist Kalpana Datta. The movie couldn’t break even commercially but remains one of Govariker’s most underrated works.

Not all of Gowariker’s period pieces have fared equally well though. Examples include Mohen Jodaro (a fictional tale set in the times of the ancient Indus Valley Civilization) and the war drama Panipat (recounting the Third Battle of Panipat). Both movies didn’t carry the same depth as Lagaan or Jodha Akbar but they still are worth a watch for their visual ambitions alone.

Why is Swades the best Ashutosh Gowariker movie to watch?

Despite flopping at the box office, Swades endures as a cult classic. Critics and audiences alike refer to this moving drama as Gowariker’s magnum opus (and one of Shah Rukh Khan’s best performances). AR Rahman’s rousing score only adds more emotion to this subtle and nuanced take on love for one’s country.

Where can you watch the best Ashutosh Gowariker movies?

Below you can find the latest streaming information for the best movies directed by Ashutosh Gowariker. This includes every offer for viewers in India. We also show you if any of his best movies are available to watch online for free.

  • 30 Best Hrishikesh Mukherjee Movies (and Where to Watch Them)

30 Best Hrishikesh Mukherjee Movies (and Where to Watch Them)

Hrishikesh Mukherjee was a visionary for his time as the director pioneered the “middle cinema” of Bollywood. With his romantic dramas and screwball comedies striking the right balance between mainstream popularity and arthouse realism, Mukherjee left behind some of the finest Indian movies of all time. These include Anand, Namak Haraam, Gol Maal, Chupke Chupke and many more.

Our guide offers you the definitive watchlist of the best Hrishikesh Mukherjee movies and all the options to stream them in India.

From Anari to Anand: Which Hrishikesh Mukherjee movies should I watch first?

The best Hrishikesh Mukherjee movies to start with include his collaborations with actors Rajesh Khanna and Amitabh Bachchan. Both Bollywood veterans starred in Anand and Namak Haraam. The former is a cult hit starring Khanna as a terminally ill man who wants to live his life to the fullest alongside his best friend (Bachchan).

Namak Haraam followed in the wake of Anand’s success and starred Bachchan as a wealthy industrialist and Khanna as a middle-class worker associated with him. The movie perfectly exemplifies Mukherjee’s tendencies to reflect the socio-political realities through his easy-to-digest cinema. It’s with movies like these that some critics called Mukherjee “the common man’s director”.

All the serious drama aside, Mukherjee’s comedies are also essential to watch for any Bollywood fan. Gol Maal is an all-time favourite of many featuring career-best performances by Amol Palekar and Utpal Dutt. Palekar stars as a slacker trying to impress his girlfriend’s uptight father (Dutt). Featuring memorable songs by Kishore Kumar and a chaotic comedy of errors as its storyline, Gol Maal has only aged well with time.

Chupke Chupke is similar in tone and touches upon mistaken identities and hilarious love stories. Frequent collaborator Amitabh Bachchan stars along with his on-screen wife Jaya Bachchan and his Sholay co-star Dharmendra. The fact that Mukherjee could bring out laughably lovable performances out of dramatic actors like Dharmendra only goes on to show the director’s versatility.

Dharmendra also offered one of his best acting performances as Ashok in Anupama. His character is a charming poet who helps the titular introverted heroine (Sharmila Tagore) find a new lease on life.

Romance was also a forte of Mukherjee’s as displayed in the aforementioned comedies and the memorable rom-com Khoobsurat. But then again, he can switch up the emotions for more tragic love stories like Mili that found Amitabh Bachchan romancing Jaya Bachchan only to discover that she has a few days to live. Think of Anand but as a romance instead.

An equally passionate and ill-fated romance between the Bachchans is explored in Abhimaan, another one of Mukherjee’s best works to watch. The film revolves around a singer who encourages his wife to also pick up a musical career. But when she overtakes him in terms of popularity, a power clash follows.

While most of these movies came out in the 1970s and the 1980s, Mukherjee has been delivering classics since the 1950s and the 1960s. Perhaps the best example of his early filmography is the 1959 crime comedy Anari. Raj Kapoor stars as a cheerful honest man who is wrongly accused of murdering his landlady. The chaos that ensues foreshadows the manic energy of Mukherjee’s subsequent movies.

Why is Anand the best Hrishikesh Mukherjee movie to watch?

Anand's universal themes of life, death, and friendship, combined with Mukherjee’s nuanced direction and memorable dialogues, create a profoundly moving and culturally impactful narrative. Its balance of humor and tragedy makes Anand a timeless classic and Mukherjee’s best work.

Where can you watch the best Hrishikesh Mukherjee movies online?

Below you can find the latest streaming information for Hrishikesh Mukherjee's best movies. This includes every offer for viewers in India today.

When it comes to women-centric Bollywood comedies in recent years, Veere Di Wedding is a great example to watch. With Crew’s Kareena Kapoor leading the ensemble cast, Veere Di Wedding follows a group of friends embarking on a girls’ trip to Thailand. As Kapoor’s protagonist reconsiders her marriage, her friends make some major life decisions themselves.

    Ocean’s Eight

When it comes to women-led heist films like Crew, Ocean’s Eight is worth a watch. The latest installment in the Ocean’s franchise, it boasts a stellar all-women ensemble led by Cate Blanchett and Sandra Bullock.

    Good Newwz

Kareena Kapoor started her career with traditional rom-coms and evolved with dramas. But she has been taking on some smart comedies as of late, such as the surrogacy satire Good Newwz. Kapoor plays a woman whose baby gets exchanged in a medical blunder.

    Thelma & Louise

Thelma & Louise reinvented the whole “women-on-the-run” subgenre of crime movies. Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis offer career-best performances as the titular best friends who accidentally get involved in a murder. With nowhere to hide, the fugitives embark on an unforgettable road trip.

    Thank You For Coming

Much like Crew and Veere Di Wedding, Thank You For Coming is a women-led comedy produced by Anil Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor. Bhumi Pednekar stars as a woman desperate to have her sexual awakening. Her raunchy misadventures test her friendships and family bonds.

    Lootcase

Before Crew, director Rajesh A Krishnan marked his debut with the low-budget comedy Lootcase. A delightful watch starring Kunal Kemu, Lootcase is an entertaining comedy of errors that unfolds as an innocent man finds a suitcase full of stolen money.

    American Made

When it comes to movies about flying the skies and financial crimes, American Made is a modern favourite. Inspired by the shocking true story of a pilot-turned-CIA informant, American Made features a memorable performance by cinematic aviator Tom Cruise.

    View From The Top

After Crew, some audiences are bound to get interested in discovering more movies about flight attendants. View From The Top is a hilarious example starring Gwyneth Paltrow as an aspiring air stewardess. The movie explores the ups and downs of this mile-high business, neatly packaging it as a 2000s romantic comedy.

    Hustlers

Hustlers is similar to Crew in the sense that both follow a group of women accidentally turning to a life of easy money. In this Jennifer Lopez-led comedy-drama, several club dancers come together to dupe rich clients. But chaos ensues when their schemes go out of hand.

    Udta Punjab

Apart from the leading ladies of Crew, singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh also has a notable appearance as a customs officer. The first movie that starred Dosanjh and Kapoor together was Udta Punjab. A dark and gritty exploration of the drug menace of Punjab, the film boasts impressive performances from both stars.

  • 10 Best Movies to Watch If You Like Yodha (and Where to Stream Them)

10 Best Movies to Watch If You Like Yodha (and Where to Stream Them)

Yodha is the new action thriller starring Sidharth Malhotra and Disha Patani. Set in the confines of a hijacked passenger plane, the nail-biting drama finds Malhotra playing an off-duty soldier. But as the story progresses, the morals of the terrorists and the protectors become more blurry.

If you enjoyed this high-octane action flick, we have a list of many more movies like Yodha to watch in India. We also show you the platforms where you can stream, buy, or rent these movies.

    A Gentleman

While Malhotra started his career with romantic comedies, he proved his action hero chops with A Gentleman. The spy comedy by Raj and DK found him playing an ordinary man who is mistaken for a secret agent. Watch Malhotra balancing his rom-com antics with big-budget stunts and action hero dialogue delivery.

    Non-Stop

When it comes to gun-heavy action miles high above the ground, Non-Stop is worth a watch. Starring Liam Neeson in Taken mode, Non-Stop is an unpredictable hostage thriller taking place entirely in a plane.

    Passenger 57

This ‘90s action classic stars Wesley Snipes as a grieving anti-terrorism officer who is pushed to the limits in the middle of a hijacked flight.

    Die Hard

Die Hard is an undisputed action classic for how it reinvented the one-man-army formula in the genre. Bruce Willis plays John McClane, an ordinary policeman who is stuck in a skyscraper in the middle of a terrorist attack. With nothing but a gun and his stealth, McClane turns from an everyday man to a larger-than-life hero. Yodha, like many other airplane action movies, is practically “Die Hard on a plane”.

    Speed

The race against time in Yodha is reminiscent of the adrenaline-fueled adventure in Speed. Keanu Reeves stars as a lawman who must defuse a ticking bomb stuck to a moving bus full of passengers. The catch? If the bus stops, everything explodes!

    Airlift

Airlift recreates India’s efforts at flying out hostages from an Iraq-invaded Kuwait. The fact-based thriller lacks the glamour of Yodha but makes for an important watch.

    Mission Majnu

A year before Yodha, Sidharth Malhotra appeared in a Netflix action spy thriller called Mission Majnu. It’s an interesting exploration of the escapades of Indian spies in Pakistan in the 1970s, at a time when both countries were in a nuclear race.

    Air Force One

You have seen police officers and secret agents ward off hijackers in the skies. But Air Force One takes this trope a level higher by pitting an American President against Russian terrorists! Harrison Ford stars as the butt-kicking Head of State and Gary Oldman plays the antagonist in this ‘90s classic.

    Neerja

Featuring a career-best performance by Sonam Kapoor, Neerja recounts the daring true story of Neerja Banot. The late flight attendant gave up her life to protect passengers in the middle of a terrorist-hijacked plane in 1986.

    Crew

When it comes to recent aviation-related Bollywood offerings, Crew can be a relatively light-hearted watch after Yodha. Starring Kareena Kapoor, Tabu, and Kriti Sanon, Crew is a heist comedy-drama that follows the misadventures of three flight attendants. When they accidentally get involved in a gold smuggling case, their fate changes for the better or for worse.

The list below offers you all the options to stream these movies in India. This includes every offer for viewers in India today. We'll also show you if any of these movies are available to watch online for free.

    Squid Game

Before he starred in The Acolyte, Lee Jung-jae found success in this Netflix Korean hit. Squid Game is worth a watch for anyone who is interested in post-apocalyptic sci-fi shows and deadly Hunger Games-like tournaments.

    Under the Banner of Heaven

Apart from serving as a sci-fi saga, The Acolyte is also a compelling investigative thriller. For more fans of the genre, Under the Banner of Heaven is worth a watch. Andrew Garfield stars as a kind-hearted detective who begins questioning his faith after a gruesome murder.

    Russian Doll

The Acolyte showrunner Leslye Headland is also the creator of Netflix’s existential comedy series Russian Doll. The show is a head-turning time-traveling mystery with a standout performance by Natasha Lyonne. Russian Doll actor Charlie Barnett also plays a Jedi temple guardian in The Acolyte.

Much like The Acolyte, the acclaimed HBO miniseries Watchmen blends many genres at once. Inspired by the graphic novel series of the same name, Watchmen is a mature take on costumed superheroes in the backdrop of a serial killing mystery.

    Krypton

While The Acolyte acts as a prequel to all other Star Wars movies and shows, Krypton acts as the origin chapter of Superman’s home planet. Set decades before the DC hero’s birth, Krypton is an underrated gem in modern sci-fi television.

    Star Wars: Andor

The Star Wars franchise offers many live-action shows to watch but Andor ranks on top. Doubling as a political drama and a survival thriller, the Disney+ series finds Diego Luna playing a rebel committed to freedom from the evil Imperial empire. Watch it for some impressive war tactics, dramatic acting moments, and thrilling battle sequences. This is Star Wars television at its finest.

  • How to Watch the Deadpool Movies in Order: A Complete Streaming Guide

How to Watch the Deadpool Movies in Order: A Complete Streaming Guide

Ryan Reynolds is synonymous with the word Deadpool, thanks to his unforgettably hilarious and violent performance as the foul-mouthed mutant mercenary. Deadpool is different from other costumed heroes with his movies filled with blood-stained action and inappropriate humour.

As the R-rated comic book franchise returns with Deadpool & Wolverine, our guide takes you through all the Deadpool movies in order and all the platforms where you can stream them in India.

How to watch the Deadpool movies in chronological order

You can watch the Deadpool movies in the same order as their release date with the movies following a chronological order. First up is the 2016 origin story Deadpool that covers how Wade Wilson became the red-and-black suit-wearing mercenary. Deadpool 2 finds him taking on future missions while facing off against Cable, a mutant from the future played by Josh Brolin.

You don’t need to watch Once Upon A Deadpool as it’s just a family-friendly version of Deadpool 2. But diehard franchise fans can still watch it for bonus content like Deadpool narrating the entire movie like a Christmas-themed bedtime story.

The latest Deadpool movie to watch will be the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine that brings the titular mutants together. The movie is also notable for introducing Deadpool into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). All previous Deadpool movies were distributed by Fox and weren’t connected to the MCU. But with Disney-owned Marvel finally producing Deadpool & Wolverine, Deadpool gets to jump across timelines and dimensions to join the same universe as the Avengers.

Is X-Men Origins: Wolverine connected to the Deadpool movies?

X-Men Origins: Wolverine can be a bonus watch for Deadpool fans even though this 2009 film isn’t connected to the main franchise. The film was notable for introducing Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson but later turned him into a mute villain codenamed Weapon IX. This was also the first time Reynolds’ Wilson and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine appeared together.

The Deadpool movies found Reynolds playing Wilson again but rebooted his role to turn him into the titular antihero.

How to watch the Deadpool movies in release order

To provide you with the essential Deadpool cinematic experience, the list below shows how you can watch every Deadpool movie in the order they were officially released. We've also included streaming offers to show you where to watch them online on streaming services in India. Wear your mask and get your katana ready! It’s going to be a wild ride.

  • How to Watch the Wolverine Movies in Order: A Complete Streaming Guide

How to Watch the Wolverine Movies in Order: A Complete Streaming Guide

While Wolverine has enjoyed comic book popularity since the 1970s, Australian star Hugh Jackman reinvented the adamantium-clawed mutant ever since he starred in X-Men. Then came the sequels and standalone Wolverine movies like X-Men Origins: Wolverine and Logan, cementing his presence in pop culture.

Now, with The Wolverine star joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) in Deadpool & Wolverine, have a look at the right order to stream every Wolverine movie in order.

How to watch the Wolverine movies in chronological order

The first Wolverine movie to watch chronologically is X-Men Origins: Wolverine as it traces his story before he joined the mutant team known as X-Men. The last one to watch is Logan for it traces an aging phase of his life in a post-apocalyptic future.

Between X-Men Origins: Wolverine and Logan, the only standalone Wolverine movie to watch is The Wolverine which finds the titular mutant revisiting his past in Japan.

Then, there are also the X-Men movies with Wolverine being a core member of the team. While his appearances are brief in the team’s origin stories X-Men: First Class and X-Men: Apocalypse, he plays a pivotal role in the original X-Men trilogy (X-Men, X2, X-Men: The Last Stand).

X-Men: Days of Future Past is where things get tricky as the movie shifts between the 1970s (the same timeline as X-Men Class) and a dystopian 2023 (continuing the events of the original X-Men trilogy). With Wolverine travelling between these two timelines, you can watch the movie either after X-Men: First Class or after The Wolverine.

The timeline is about to branch out even more with Deadpool & Wolverine. The third movie in the Deadpool franchise, it pairs Hugh Jackman’s clawed mutant alongside Ryan Reynolds’ red-costumed mercenary Deadpool. The exact time period of the movie remains unclear until the movie is released. It can either be set before Logan as Wolverine looks younger here but it can also be alternatively set in a whole other dimension (given that Deadpool & Wolverine connect the rest of the movies with the Marvel Cinematic Universe).

How to watch the Wolverine movies in release order

The release order of the Wolverine movies can be divided into standalone movies that focus mainly on Wolverine (X-Men Origins: Wolverine, The Wolverine, Logan) and the X-Men movies. The latter can be divided further into prequels like X-Men: First Class and X-Men: Apocalypse and the original X-Men trilogy (X-Men, X2, X-Men: The Last Stand) with X-Men: Days of Future Past connecting both series.

To help you get the essential Wolverine movie experience, the list below shows how you can watch every Wolverine movie in the order they were officially released. We've also included streaming offers to show you where to watch them online on streaming services in India. Get your claws ready!

  • Every Anurag Basu Movie Ranked (And Where to Watch Them)

Every Anurag Basu Movie Ranked (And Where to Watch Them)

Anurag Basu didn’t have the best start in Bollywood when he directed the 2003 slasher Kucch To Hai. But since his largely-forgotten debut, Basu has established in multiple genres ranging from crime dramas to romantic comedies.

If you are intent on checking out the filmography of the Barfi, Life…in a Metro , and Ludo director, here’s a definitive ranking of his best movies and a guide to where to watch them all.

From Murder to Ludo: Which Anurag Basu movies should I watch first?

Anurag Basu’s directing career began in 2003 with the supernatural slasher Kuchh To Hai with the John Abraham-led fantasy romantic thriller Saaya. But it’s perhaps best that you watch them both in the end as they are far from his best works.

Basu’s career later progressed with the Mahesh Bhatt-produced thrillers Murder and Gangster. Both movies garnered cult fanbases in their time. A remake of the American erotic thriller Unfaithful, Murder explored infidelity with iconic performances by Emraan Hashmi and Mallika Sherawat. The 2004 hit went on to spawn the Murder franchise with many spiritual sequels.

Gangster reunited Basu with Hashmi and starred actress Kangana Ranaut (in her screen debut). The tragic love story revolved around a woman caught between a singer and a gangster ex-lover. But in terms of longevity, Basu’s next movie has enjoyed a better reputation.

Life…in a Metro is a 2007 romantic anthology that boasted an ensemble cast including the late Irffan Khan, Konkana Sen Sharma, Dharmendra, and many more. Basu could establish his penchant for exploring complicated love stories across different age groups, a trait he would go on to show in his future works.

But perhaps the most essential Anurag Basu movie to watch is his magnum opus (so far) Barfi. The heartwarming romantic comedy offered career-defining performances by Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra, later being selected as India’s official Oscar submission for Best International Feature in 2012.

Barfi’s success gave way to another collaboration with Ranbir Kapoor in the form of the adventure thriller Jagga Jasoos. Featuring Kapoor as a teenage detective, the Disney production followed his thrilling Tintin-like adventures across different corners of the world. Largely shunned at the times of its release, Jagga Jasoos still entertains a limited but cult fanbase that is ready to appreciate Basu’s visual flair and narrative ambition. The same perhaps remains true for the Hrithik Roshan-led romantic thriller Kites, another imperfect but promising adventure directed by Basu.

The director’s most recent film found him revisiting the anthology formula with the Netflix original Ludo. With four stories playing out with the unpredictability of the titular board game, Ludo brought Basu back to form. With chuckle-worthy performances by Pankaj Tripathi and Rajkumar Rao, Ludo was a thrilling exploration of crime, love, heartbreak, and the ultimate futility of human life. Often making cameos in his own films, Basu himself had an extended special appearance in Ludo as Yama, the Hindu god of death.

Why is Barfi the best Anurag Basu movie to watch?

Starring Ranbir Kapoor as the titular character, Barfi followed a cheery deaf-mute young man as he accidentally strikes up a romance with the free-spirited autistic girl Jhilmil (Priyanka Chopra). But the entry of an elderly woman (Ileana D’Cruz) turns Barfi’s life upside down and an emotional love triangle follows. With Chaplin-esque comedy, adorable romances, and an unexpectedly tragic third act, Barfi endures as Anurag Basu’s best film to watch.

Where can you watch the best Anurag Basu movies?

The list below guides you to the latest streaming information for the best movies directed by Anurag Basu. This includes every offer for viewers in India today.

  • 20 Best Sonakshi Sinha Movies and TV Shows (and Where to Watch Them)

20 Best Sonakshi Sinha Movies and TV Shows (and Where to Watch Them)

Sonakshi Sinha started out as a costume designer for independent films but eventually established herself as a Bollywood name following her debut in Dabangg. Apart from frequently starring alongside stars like Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan, and Ajay Devgn, Sinha has also got top billing in women-led dramas like the action thriller Akira and the journalism-themed dramedy Noor. With the Prime Video cop thriller Dahaad and the Netflix period drama Heeramandi, Sinha has also successfully established herself in the OTT space.

Here’s a look at the best movies and TV shows starring Sonakshi Sinha along with all the information that you need to stream them.

From Dabangg to Dahaad: What Sonakshi Sinha movies and TV shows should you watch first?

For starters, one can watch the Dabangg franchise as it established Sinha as a new face in the industry. It all started with the over-the-top action comedy Dabangg that starred Salman Khan as the khaki-wearing casanova Chulbul Pandey and Sinha as Lajjo, the woman he falls in love with. However, the Dabangg trilogy doesn’t allow Sinha to fully flesh out her dramatic range and mainly puts the spotlight on Khan.

Sinha has had similar roles in other masala potboilers like Bullet Raja, R…Rajkumar, Rowdy Rathore, Action Jackson, and Tevar. All of these action films are full-fledged entertainers in their own right and boast Sinha taking on some comedic roles. But to get a deeper idea of her emotional skills, Lootera is a cult favourite to watch.

The period romance directed by Vikramaditya Motwane stars Sinha as the daughter of a wealthy landowner who gets charmed by Ranveer Singh’s mysterious archeologist. However, the script doesn’t reduce her to the hero’s love interest. Rather, she gives a career-defining performance as Paki Roy Chaudhary, an ever-curious soul who wishes to step out of her conservative life and discover her passion as a writer.

As her career progressed, Sinha also took on women-centric dramas where she got top billing. These include Noor in which she played a journalist finding her identity in the urban chaos of Mumbai. In Akira, Sinha tried to rebrand herself as an action heroine and displayed similar traits in mystery thrillers like Force 2 and Ittefaq.

Double XL is another interesting comedy-drama to watch, starring Sinha along with Huma Quereshi as two plus-sized women who battle body-shaming stigmas by following their professional instincts.

But perhaps a new high in Sinha’s career came from 2023 onwards when she fronted the cop drama series Dahaad. Marking her OTT debut, Sinha played a hot-headed policewoman who pursues a woman-killing psychopath in Rajasthan. Sinha followed her class act with the Sanjay Leela Bhansali-directed Netflix series Heeramandi. In this visually dazzling period drama, Sinha had a double role as a vengeful courtesan and her mother.

Why is Dahaad Sonakshi Sinha’s best title to watch?

While Sonakshi Sinha has had memorable roles in movies like Lootera, it is Dahaad that marked her second coming on streaming. Dahaad appears as a standard investigative thriller in the start, with Sinha essaying the role of Sub-Inspector Anjali Bhaati. But as the episodes progress, Sinha’s character doesn’t only chase a serial killer but also challenges the casteist notions of her village. It’s a bold role that Sinha takes on with conviction and confidence, earning her a Filmfare OTT Award.

Where can I watch Sonakshi Sinha’s best movies and TV shows?

The list below gives you all the details that you need to stream, buy or rent the best works from Sonakshi Sinha’s filmography. This includes every offer for viewers in India today. We'll also show you if any of her best movies are available to watch online for free.

  • 25 Best Taapsee Pannu Movies (and Where to Watch Them)

25 Best Taapsee Pannu Movies (and Where to Watch Them)

Taapse Pannu is a leading name in modern Bollywood today but before leading Hindi movies like Thappad and Pink, she found her start in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam movies. While Pannu has shared screen space with Bollywood heavyweights like Shah Rukh Khan (Dunki) and Amitabh Bachchan (Badla), Pannu also finds time for a few South Indian dramas like Game Over and Anabelle Sethupathi.

If you like the diverse work of Taapsee Pannu, our guide takes you through her best movies and where to watch them.

From Pink to Manmarziyan: Which Taapse Pannu movies should I watch first?

Before she became a household name with Baby and Pink, Pannu appeared in a handful of South Indian movies across various languages. From her early 2010s work, the best film to watch is her Tamil debut Aadukalam. Directed by Vetrimaaran, the film found Pannu playing an Anglo-Indian girl called Irene alongside Dhanush’s rowdy rooster-fighter hero.

Coming to her Bollywood credits, the role that drew her the most attention initially was that of undercover special agent Shabana Khan in Neeraj Pandey’s spy thriller Baby. With Akshay Kumar in the lead, Baby was a gripping adrenaline ride with Pannu shining in her brief but memorable performance. She would reprise her role in the prequel Naam Shabana.

As a lead actress in Bollywood, the first career highlight for Pannu came with the courtroom drama Pink. Detailing the aftermath of a woman’s molestation and a rigged court case, Pink featured a compelling performance by Pannu alongside Amitabh Bachchan who starred as the lawyer representing her. Pannu would go on to play more of such empowering roles in women-led dramas such as Thappad.

After Pink, she revisited the legal drama genre once again with Mulk. The 2018 film starred her as a lawyer attempting to clear her father-in-law’s name after he’s falsely accused of having links with extremist terror groups.

Biopics also dominate Pannu’s filmography, particularly the ones on sports stars. So, while Saand Ki Aankh found her playing sharpshooter Prakashi Tomar, Shabaash Mitthu starred her as the former Indian women’s cricket team captain Mithali Raj. She also had supporting roles in other biopics and fact-based films like the hockey-themed Soorma, the Mars space mission drama Mission Mangal, and the sports drama Rashmi Rocket.

Two of Taapsee Pannu’s best movies were directed by Anurag Kashyap. Their first collaboration was the offbeat love triangle Manmarziyaan and the other was a sci-fi drama called Dobaaraa, an official remake of the Spanish film Mirage.

Talking about remakes, Pannu has also notably starred in the Indian remakes of German time travel classic Run Lola Run (Loop Lapeta) and the Spanish revenge-thriller The Invisible Guest (Badla).

So, while she might take on commercial ensemble-led dramas like the Rajkumar Hirani immigration comedy Dunki or the Varun Dhawan-fronted screwball comedy Judwaa 2, Pannu also harbors a passion for genre roles like a video game developer in the survival thriller Game Over and an alleged husband-killer in the romantic thriller Haseen Dillruba.

Why is Thappad the best Taapsee Pannu movie to watch?

Thappad deals with a woman’s quest for self-independence after a slap by her husband changed her life. Taapse Pannu’s character starts off with suppressing her feelings and then evolves to release them with dramatic but hard-hitting monologues. The film garnered her a Filmfare Award for Best Actress and made her a bankable leading actress in her own right.

Where can I watch the best Taapsee Pannu movies?

Below you can find the latest streaming information for Taapsee Pannu's best movies. This includes every offer for viewers in India today. We'll also show you if any of her best movies are available to watch online for free.

  • 15 Best Shraddha Kapoor Movies (and Where to Watch Them)

15 Best Shraddha Kapoor Movies (and Where to Watch Them)

From her debut alongside Oscar-winner Ben Kingsley to career breakthroughs with Aashiqui 2 and Stree, Shraddha Kapoor is one of Bollywood’s most popular actresses at the moment. While she more than often remains comfortable with mass-entertainers, she can often dabble in more serious dramas like Haider and Haseena Parkar.

If you wish to know more about Shraddha Kapoor’s filmography, we have got you covered with a guide that will take you through her greatest hits and all the options to stream them.

Aashiqui 2, ABCD 2, Stree and more: Which Shraddha Kapoor movies should I watch first?

While her father Shakti Kapoor is best-known for villainous and comedic roles in 80s and 90s Bollywood movies, Shraddha Kapoor sought to take the route of a lead in films. This started with her 2010 debut Teen Patti, a gambling-themed thriller with a stacked ensemble including Amitabh Bachchan, R Madhavan, and Gandhi actor Sir Ben Kingsley. While the movie makes for an interesting watch, Kapoor didn’t have much to do and the film remains largely forgotten.

Her true breakout role was in Aashiqui 2, the spiritual sequel to the hit 90s romantic musical Aashiqui and a remake of 1937’s A Star is Born. Paired alongside Aditya Roy Kapur, the actress played an upcoming singer who gets involved in a toxic romance as her fame increases. The blockbuster romance earned her extremely positive reviews along with her first Filmfare nomination.

A similarly tragic romance to watch is Ek Villain, a psychological thriller largely inspired by the South Korean action flick I Saw The Devil. Siddharth Malhotra plays a reformed criminal and Shraddha Kapoor stars as the woman who changes him. Kapoor shines yet again with her chirpy energy.

But if you want to watch her downplay her cheerfulness and adopt a darker persona, you must watch Haider. The former is an adaptation of Hamlet set in Kashmir, featuring impressive direction by Vishal Bhardwaj and a haunting performance by Shahid Kapoor. As for Shraddha Kapoor, she has a supporting but memorable role as his love interest (based after Ophelia in Shakespeare’s original play).

Some of Shraddha Kapoor’s best movies to watch also include the dance movies of the ABCD franchise. She joined the series as a competitive dancer in ABCD 2 and reunited with co-star Varun Dhawan in Street Dancer 3D.

Kapoor has also dabbled in the horror genre with impressive results, playing a charming witch in Stree. The first installment of the Dinesh Vijan Horror Comedy Universe, Stree boasted hilarious on-screen chemistry between her and Rajkumar Rao.

Talking about chemistry, other essential romances to watch include Ok Jaanu (alongside Aashiqui 2 star Aditya Roy Kapur) and the “anti-love” love story Tu Jhoothi Mai Makkaar (alongside Ranbir Kapoor).

Why is Aashiqui 2 the best Shraddha Kapoor movie to watch?

Aashiqui 2 arguably boasts the most emotional performance in Shraddha Kapoor’s career and is dramatic enough to make its tragic fairy tale impactful. And let’s not forget, the Arjit Singh and Mithoon-driven soundtrack remains one of modern Bollywood’s best albums.

Where can I watch the best Shraddha Kapoor movies?

The list below gives you the latest streaming information for Shraddha Kapoor's top movies. This includes all current offers for viewers in India. We also let you know if any of her best films are available to watch online for free.

  • 10 Best Sushant Singh Rajput Movies (and Where to Watch Them)

10 Best Sushant Singh Rajput Movies (and Where to Watch Them)

Sushant Singh Rajput was one of Bollywood’s most promising stars until his untimely death in 2020. But even with his limited filmography, the Kai Po Che star made his mark with uplifting comedy-dramas like Chhichhore and PK along with darker experiments like Detective Byomkesh Bakshy and Sonchiriya.

If you are a fan of the TV star-turned-Bollywood regular, our guide takes you through the best movies starring Sushant Singh Rajput. We also offer you all the options where you can stream them in India.

From Kai Po Che to Dil Bechara: Which Sushant Singh Rajput movies should you watch first?

Sushant Singh Rajput gained early fame as the lead in the Hindi soap opera Pavitra Rishta. But Rajput was meant for bigger things since he made his cinematic debut in Kai Po Che. The cult classic written and directed by Abishek Kapoor is a perfect movie to get started with his filmography.

After gaining raves and a Filmfare nomination for Best Debut Actor, Rajput followed his career in Shudh Desi Romance. The underrated romantic comedy navigates young love with themes like live-in relationships and arranged marriages.

The Aamir Khan-led satire PK found Rajput in an extended cameo appearance as a Pakistani Muslim man falling for an Indian Hindu girl (Anushka Sharma). This cross-border romance was heartwarmingly explored by director Rajkumar Hirani in his comedic exploration of religious intolerance.

Rajput essayed similarly positive characters in movies like Chhichhore and MS Dhoni: The Untold Story. The former shifted between the past and present of Rajput’s protagonist as a carefree college student and later as a father protecting his teenage son from a burdening education system. In MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, Rajput turned heads as he essayed the life journey of the legendary cricketer.

But to get a deeper look at Rajput’s dramatic range, one can also watch his more serious thrillers. The best examples are Detective Byomkesh Bakshy and Sonchiriya. In Detective Byomkesh Bakshy, Rajput played the titular detective navigating a murder mystery in 1940s-era Kolkata. With stylish set pieces, gripping direction by Dibakar Banerjee, and Rajput’s committed performance, the 2015 action drama became a cult classic even if it flopped at the box office.

Sonchiriya had similar luck as it earned more critical praise than commercial success. The gritty crime drama revolved around a bunch of dacoits in the much-feared Chambal Valley. Rajput played one such dacoit alongside reputed character actors like Ranvir Shorey, Manoj Bajpayee, and Bhumi Pednekar. Sonchiriya’s brilliance lay in how these actors humanised their characters, revealing the social and moral concerns that drove them to such a life.

More quintessential Sushant Singh Rajput movies to watch include the tragic romance Kedarnath, the intergenerational romantic drama Raabta, and The Fault In Our Stars remake Dil Bechara (Rajput’s final movie which got released after his death).

Why is Kai Po Che the best Sushant Singh Rajput movie to watch?

Sushant Singh Rajput’s debut film is also his finest as a lead performer. Rajput stars as an aspiring cricketer in early 2000s Gujarat, alongside Amit Sadh and Rajkumar Rao who play his lifelong friends.

While it’s a coming-of-age tale of friendship, Kai Po Che also offered some hard-hitting socio-political commentary on the real-life Gujarat earthquake of 2001 and the communal riots of 2002. Amit Trivedi’s memorably uplifting soundtrack coupled with Rajput’s convincing lead performance make Kai Po Che a testament of hope in times of gloom. The actor might not be anymore with us but his breezy energy and cheerful legacy remains with us.

  • 10 Best TV Shows to Watch If You Liked The Family Man (and Where to Watch Them)

10 Best TV Shows to Watch If You Liked The Family Man (and Where to Watch Them)

The Family Man is an entertaining spin on the spy thriller formula, one that often trends on the Indian streaming charts. The Amazon Prime Video original stars Manoj Bajpayee as Srikant Tiwari, the titular middle-class family man who also serves as a covert spy under the National Intelligence Agency. Created by Raj and DK, The Family Man is filled with fast-paced action, mature character development, and some chaotic comedy to break away from the intense story.

If you enjoyed The Family Man, we offer you many other TV shows that you can watch or rent on Indian streaming platforms.

    Killer Soup

Manoj Bajpayee has been a seasoned Bollywood veteran for decades now but after The Family Man, he’s expanding as a bankable OTT star. Watch Netflix’s Killer Soup as a case in point. The dark crime comedy stars Konkona Sen Sharma as a talentless chef who plans on replacing her husband with a doppelganger. Bajpayee is equally delightful in a dual role as both the protagonist’s boring husband and mysterious lover.

    Farzi

Vaguely set in the same universe as The Family Man, Farzi is yet another acclaimed Prime Video original from the minds of Raj and DK. The crime comedy stars Shahid Kapoor as an artist with the talents to create fake currency notes. The show covers his rise in the crime world and the chaos that ensues.

If you like Farzi, be sure to check out these 10 other shows as well!

    Special OPS

Much like The Family Man, Special OPS blends high-profile counter-terrorism operations with the psychological tensions of secret service employees. Bollywood actor Kay Kay Menon is as intense as Bajpayee throughout this Hotstar original.

    Bard of Blood

Bard of Blood stars Emraan Hashmi as an ex-RAW agent who becomes a covert operative outside India. When four Indian spies are abducted, Hashmi’s worn-out protagonist must revisit his past demons.

    The Great Indian Murder

While Manoj Bajpayee is the face of The Family Man, a breakout performer was Sharib Hashmi as his loyal sidekick JK Talpade. To watch more of his dramatic range in web series, take a look at his double role in the gripping mystery thriller The Great Indian Murder.

    Breathe

Breathe revolves around a crime branch officer driven to uncover an organ-trafficking conspiracy. But when he comes across unlikely suspects, his personal and professional life begin to get affected. Fans of The Family Man would want to watch this Prime Video series for how it explores the psychological pressure of fighting crime.

    Guns & Gulaabs

This heavily-entertaining Netflix crime thriller by Raj & DK captures the same eccentric humor and gripping drama of The Family Man, but in the 1990s. Watch out for stylish action scenes, a nostalgic soundtrack, and perfectly imperfect leads like Rajkumar Rao and Adarsh Gourav.

    Mumbai Diaries

If The Family Man shows how an ordinary middle-class man ends up saving the nation, Mumbai Diaries also celebrates such real-life heroes. Capturing the trials and tribulations of doctors and nurses during moments of crisis, Mumbai Diaries makes for an uplifting watch.

    Ray

Need more of Manoj Bajpayee in the OTT space? Watch the anthology series Ray on Netflix. The third episode finds Bajpayee in a delightfully wicked performance but the other episodes are equally impressive, each one drawing inspiration from a story by legendary Bengali director Satyajit Ray.

    Paatal Lok

An evergreen title on Prime Video, Paatal Lok is a cop drama that also exposes Indian social evils like the caste system and communal politics. It is grittier and bloodier than The Family Man but offers an intriguing look at how a dark life can take a toll on law-enforcers.

You can check out the list below to find out where you can stream all of these shows in India. We also provide you with streaming offers and options to buy or rent them.

  • 10 Best TV Shows to Watch If You Liked Farzi (and Where to Watch Them)

10 Best TV Shows to Watch If You Liked Farzi (and Where to Watch Them)

Farzi often trends on the Prime Video streaming charts and is ranked among the best Hindi-language OTT series in India. Apart from compelling lead performances by Shahid Kapoor and Vijay Sethupathi, the Raj and DK series also works chiefly because of its fast-paced thrills and binge-worthy drama. Kapoor plays a talented artist who figures out a way to create fake currency notes while Sethupathi stars as the hardened police officer promising to take him down.

If you enjoyed Farzi, we have many more recommendations and all the options to stream them.

    Scam 1992

Based on a shocking real-life story, Hansal Mehta’s riveting miniseries Scam 1992 tells us the tale of how stock market wizard-turned-fraudster Harshad Mehta duped the system. Pratik Gandhi offers a compelling lead performance and the theme song lives on in the Internet to this day.

    Choona

An overlooked gem to watch on Netflix, Choona is a thrilling heist comedy that pits a band of misfits against a corrupt politician. Expect twists and turns similar to Farzi with a good dose of financial crime.

    The Family Man

Created by Farzi showrunners Raj & DK, the Manoj Bajpayee-led thriller on Prime Video finds him playing a man caught between his familial responsibilities and his secret agent duties. With the show’s characters vaguely referenced in Farzi, it’s possible to expect a crossover in the near future.

    Inventing Anna

When it comes to shows on financial fraudsters from the West, Inventing Anna makes for an interesting watch. Emmy-winner Julia Garner takes on the titular role of Anna Delvey, the notorious scammer who posed as a wealthy heiress to dupe the elite class of New York.

    Jamtara: Sabka Number Aayega

While Farzi shed light on crimes of fake currency circulation, Jamtara revealed the phishing scams that plague Northern India. The show makes for a binge-worthy watch with nearly-30-minute-long episodes with local politics and police corruption thrown in the mix.

    Sacred Games

Even before it was released on Prime, Farzi made headlines for casting a Bollywood A-lister like Shahid Kapoor. This trend can be traced back to the first Indian Netflix original Sacred Games that starred film industry regulars like Saif Ali Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. While this cat-and-mouse thriller between a dutiful cop and a morally grey gangster is bloodier than Farzi, it’s an Indian streaming classic that can’t be missed.

    Guns & Gulaabs

Farzi creators Raj and DK take you back to the 90s in this potboiler on Netflix. The paths of criminals, cops, and hopeless romantics cross in Guns & Gulaabs, a crime comedy that oozes with equal amounts of style and substance. Watch out for some fine performances by Rajkumar Rao, Dulquer Salmaan, and Adarsh Gourav.

    CAT

Much like Vijay Sethupathi’s cop is hellbent on nabbing the fake note masterminds, Cat’s Randeep Hooda is a heroic cop who aims to take down the drug nexus in Punjab. A gripping watch from start to finish.

    Dirty Money

If you wish to get into the specifics of financial crimes like the ones shown in Farzi, Dirty Money will offer you a fact-based approach on such shocking money matters from all over the world.

    Breaking Bad

An undisputed TV classic, Breaking Bad’s underdog journey for its protagonist followed by menacing criminals like Gus Fring are strangely comparable to Farzi. The lead character’s rags-to-riches story mirrors Walter White’s rise to power and Indians get their ‘desi’ Gus Fring with Kay Kay Menon’s menacing Mansoor Dalal. Farzi even features a “laying on a stack of money” scene much like Breaking Bad!

  • All the Star Wars TV Shows In Order (and Where to Watch Them)

All the Star Wars TV Shows In Order (and Where to Watch Them)

The Star Wars franchise began in 1977 with a cult classic space opera that later gave way to numerous sequels, prequels, and spin-offs. Despite a few forgotten American cartoons in the 1980s, the franchise later spawned some iconic animated (and later live-action) series set in the same chronology as the movies.

While there are multiple ways to watch these streaming titles set in “a galaxy far far away”, our watchlist gives you the complete order to stream the Star Wars TV shows in order of their chronological timeline and release date. We also let you know where you can stream these titles on OTT services in India!

How to watch all Star Wars TV shows in chronological order

Star Wars anthology series (set across different timelines):

Out of all the Star Wars TV shows, a few titles can be skipped and still not affect the viewing order. For instance, even though Young Jedi Adventures is set two centuries before the Star Wars prequel movies, it’s a children’s animated series that doesn’t have any major consequences to the overall plot. However, the live-action series The Acolyte serves as a thrilling prelude, being set a century before the prequels and revolving around a massive conspiracy targeting the heroic Jedi warriors.

A Star Wars fan must also watch the 2D-animated Clone Wars and its more successful 3D follow-up The Clone Wars as it fills in the gap between the prequel and sequel movies. The Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi and his hot-headed apprentice Anakin Skywalker (who were earlier introduced in the movies) serve as the leads alongside new characters like the Jedi Ahsoka Tano. Star Wars: Rebels was a follow-up in the same animated chronology.

Sandwiched between The Clone Wars and Rebels is the animated adventure Bad Batch and the live-action series Obi-Wan Kenobi and Andor. While Obi-Wan Kenobi continues the adventures of the titular Jedi from the animated series, Andor follows the adventures of the space outlaw from the spin-off movie Rogue One.

Rebels is then followed by more live-action series such as The Mandalorian, the space-Western centered upon the titular masked bounty-hunter. As the Mandalorian befriends and protects the Force-sensitive child Grogu from Imperial forces, he also crosses paths with iconic Star Wars characters like the mercenary Boba Fett and the aforementioned Ahsoka Tano. Both of these characters got their own live-actions series that cover their standalone adventures.

The upcoming 2024 live-action series The Skeleton Crew is set around the same time period as The Mandalorian’s later seasons and Ahsoka. Meanwhile, the animated series Star Wars: Resistance comes last as it’s set a few years before the new movie trilogy that started with The Force Awakens (2017).

How to watch the Star Wars TV shows in release order

The release order of the Star Wars TV shows can be divided into live-action and animated shows. The earliest ones were all animated like The Clone Wars and Rebels. But starting with The Mandalorian, the Star Wars TV releases increasingly became live-action with notable examples like Obi-Wan Kenobi, Andor, and Ahsoka.

Where to watch all Star Wars TV shows online

To help you get the most out of your Star Wars binge-watching experience, the list below shows how you can watch every Star Wars TV show in the order they were officially released. We've also included streaming offers to show you where to watch them online on streaming services in India. May the Force be with you!

  • 10 Best TV Shows to Watch If You Liked Sacred Games (and Where to Watch Them)

10 Best TV Shows to Watch If You Liked Sacred Games (and Where to Watch Them)

Sacred Games first premiered in 2018 but it continues to dominate the Indian streaming charts, thanks to its own artistic merits and also its status as a game changer in the OTT space. The first Netflix original to stream in India, the intense crime thriller paved the way for many more web series in Hindi and other languages throughout the country. Starring Saif Ali Khan as a seasoned cop and Nawazuddin Siddiqui as a dying gangster, Sacred Games covers the crime, religion, and politics that fuel the city of Mumbai.

If you are a fan of Sacred Games, we have a list of similar crime thrillers to stream in India. Let the games begin!

    Paatal Lok

Starring Jaideep Ahlawat and Ishwak Singh as two morally righteous policemen investigating an assassination conspiracy, Paatal Lok relied on brutal violence and mythical influences to explore themes like right-wing extremism, caste-based crimes, and the current state of media.

    Delhi Crime

Featuring a breakout performance by Shefali Shah, Delhi Crime covers the mental and logistical struggles of the national capital’s police force as they investigate one heinous act after the other. Nothing is glorified here. It’s as brutally raw as Sacred Games.

    Mirzapur

While way more melodramatic and Bollywood-like in tone, Mirzapur is a binge-worthy crime drama to watch. Set in the titular town in Uttar Pradesh, Mirzapur has no dearth of the bloodshed and explicit content that shocked viewers in Sacred Games.

    McMafia

Nawazuddin Siddiqui was already well-established in Hindi cinema before his OTT debut in Sacred Games. To get a closer look at his dramatic range on TV, you can also watch his recurring role in the acclaimed British crime drama McMafia. Much like his Sacred Games character Ganesh Gaitonde, Siddiqui plays an Indian gangster affiliated with the lead characters.

    Jubilee

Along with Anurag Kashyap, Vikramaditya Motwane showcased his affinity for the crime genre with Sacred Games. But the director also has a softer side that can be witnessed in Jubilee. Set in the early years of Bollywood, Jubilee captures the highs and lows of the industry from the perspectives of its many dreamers.

    Narcos

Ganesh Gaitonde’s rise from the slums to the top of Mumbai’s underworld is eerily similar to Bolivian drug lord Pablo Escobar’s reign. Narcos starts off with Escobar and then proceeds to cover such terrifying stories of many other kingpins of the region.

    Asur

If the cat-and-mouse game between Sartaj Singh and Gaitonde kept you at the edge of your seats, you should definitely watch Asur. Arshad Warsi stars as a forensic expert who must race against time to nab a psychotic serial killer.

    Tandav

While Sartaj Singh was a hard act to follow, Saif Ali Khan moved over to Prime for his second OTT outing. Tandav is an intriguing political drama starring Khan as a ruthless statesman who will do anything to climb up the electoral ladder.

    Khakee: The Bihar Chapter

A gritty Netflix crime drama recounting real-life cases from Bihar, Khakee is heavy on the action but also has moments to understand the policeman’s psyche. Avinash Tiwary steps in for the Sacred Games-like villain who enjoys teasing the cops behind him. And Karan Tacker plays the police officer hellbent on crushing crime in the area.

    24

Each season of this long-running thriller finds Kiefer Sutherland’s agent Jack Bauer thwarting terrorist plots in only about 24 hours. The nail-biting tension is comparable to Sartaj Singh’s attempts in tracking down Gaitonde in Sacred Games.

We have compiled all the options to stream, buy or rent these TV shows in India in the list below. We also show you if any of these shows are available to watch online for free.

  • 10 Best TV Shows to Watch If You Liked Panchayat (and Where to Stream Them)

10 Best TV Shows to Watch If You Liked Panchayat (and Where to Stream Them)

Panchayat has been one of the biggest streaming successes for Amazon Prime Video in India. The political satire and coming-of-age drama stars Jitendra Kumar as a disgruntled government office-worker who is transferred to a remote village in the middle of nowhere. But as he immerses himself in the local politics and makes some unlikely friends, his life takes a new turn.

If you have enjoyed watching this cult favorite, check out our list of 10 similar shows like Panchayat along with all the options to stream them.

    Aspirants

Created by The Viral Fever (the same team behind Panchayat), Aspirants covers the arduous journey of dreamers from all walks of life as they aspire to crack the UPSC exam. Regarded as one of the toughest exams in the world, these would-be bureaucrats sweat it out for an inspiring underdog journey.

    Maamla Legal Hai

Similar in tone as Panchayat, Maamla Legal Hai pokes fun at the Indian legal system. Each episode takes on one absurd court case inspired by stranger-than-fiction true stories.

    Kota Factory

Yet another TVF (The Viral Fever) original, Kota Factor is stylishly shot in black-and-white and shifts between emotional drama and classroom comedy. The Netflix series revolves around engineering students struggling to crack the dreaded IIT-JEE exam. Panchayat star Jitendra Kumar also stars as a friendly tutor called “Jitu Bhaiya”.

    Laakhon Mei Ek

Underdog tales often tend to do well in the Hindi streaming space. And while Laakhon Mei Ek isn’t as funny as Panchayat, the anthology series is powerful enough to showcase how ordinary Indians fight their daily battles to break out from the rest. For Panchayat’s protagonist, cracking the CAT exam is as important as the engineering and medical students in Laakhon Mei Ek.

    Gullak

A TVF series made for Sony LIV, Gullak is a heartwarming family comedy that explores the everyday ups and downs of a dysfunctional middle-class household. If you need some family-friendly comedy like Panchayat, watch this critically acclaimed series right away.

    The Great Indian Murder

An endearing presence in Panchayat is Raghubir Yadav who plays a local village leader. To watch the veteran actor’s dramatic range in other web series, you can stream the Hotstar investigative crime drama The Great Indian Murder. Yadav changes colours to play a morally grey character this time instead of his ever-smiling Panchayat character.

    Permanent Roommates

Before Panchayat, one of the breakout TVF series was Permanent Roommates. Exploring new-age romance from the POV of an urban couple sharing a high-rise flat, Permanent Roommates was equal parts funny and emotional. Also, Panchayat leading man Jitendra Kumar makes a hilarious guest appearance in one of the episodes!

    Masaba Masaba

Anything with Neena Gupta in the lead is worth a watch. Panchayat is no exception as she plays the village leader’s self-empowered wife. Redefining feminism in her 60s, she takes on a more urban role in Masaba Masaba. What makes the Netflix original worth a watch is the fact that she plays a fictionalised version of herself alongside her fashion designer daughter Masaba Gupta.

    Yeh Meri Family

A simple comedy set in the 1990s, Yeh Meri Family follows a dreamy school student and his sweet but loud family. The TVF show is a wholesome watch for the entire family, much like Panchayat. And the audiences who grew up in the 1990s are bound to love it a bit more.

    Humorously Yours

Panchayat showrunner Deepak Kumar Mishra found his start with a few episodes of Permanent Roommates and the criminally underrated satire Humorously Yours. The show stars stand-up comic Vipul Goyal playing himself, covering the behind-the-scenes drama of the comedy circuit.

But Hanks’ inspiring hero doesn’t give up his will to live and even befriends a volleyball called Wilson. Ultimately, Cast Away reflects the strength of the human spirit.

    4- Trapped

This claustrophobic thriller directed by Vikramaditya Motwane is a one-man show by Rajkumar Rao. The Bollywood actor plays a man trapped in his high-rise apartment. As the clock ticks and no help arrives, Trapped turns into a nail-biting psychological thriller.

    5- Helen

Survival thrillers have seen a significant resurgence in Malayalam cinema in recent years with Helen being a great example. The compelling human drama finds Anna Ben’s titular heroine being trapped in a kitchen freezer while her loved ones try their best to rescue her.

    6- Malayankunju

Malayankunju ranks among some of Malayalam star Fahadh Faasil’s best movies. A character study doubling as a disaster movie, Malayankunju finds Faasil as a short-tempered technician who is forced to revisit his memories of being trapped under a landslide.

    7- 127 Hours

Slumdog Millionaire’s Oscar-winning filmmaker Danny Boyle directed James Franco as mountain climber Aron Ralston in 127 Hours. The title refers to the time that Ralston endured while being trapped between two giant boulders. With no way out in the desert, the adventurer must take extreme measures.

    8- Jan.E.Man

Manjummel Boys is a stunning critical and commercial feat given that it is only director Chidambaram’s second movie. To get more insights in his filmmaking style, you can watch his 2021 comedy-drama Jan.E.Man. The movie deals with a Canada expat returning to Kerala, only for his welcome party to be interrupted by a funeral.

    9- Malootty

Much like how the friend of the titular Manjummel Boys falls down a ravine, Malootty is focused on a child falling down a deep well. The premise then covers the exciting but daunting rescue attempts that follow.

    10- Society of the Snow

In 1972, a student rugby team from Uruguay crash-landed in the snow-capped Andes mountains. Beating all odds to survive, these young boys give their all to survive even if it brings challenges like beating the mountainous cold and eating human flesh. The Spanish-language film by J.A. Bayona drew universal acclaim and earned an Oscar nomination for Best International Feature.

  • 10 Movies to Watch If You Liked Aavesham (and Where to Stream Them)

10 Movies to Watch If You Liked Aavesham (and Where to Stream Them)

Aavesham is a complete entertainer, thanks to Fahadh Faasil’s lovable gangster Ranjith "Ranga" Gangadharan. The Malayalam hit revolves around three college students in Bangalore who get caught up in a local brawl. With Ranga’s hand over them, what follows is a delightful comedy of errors.

If you wish to watch more gangster comedies and local crime stories like Aavesham, we have got you covered with a diverse watchlist. We also offer you all the options on where to stream them in India.

    Angamaly Diaries

Anchored by brutally raw action scenes and long camera takes, Angamaly Diaries is a Malayalam crime classic. But beyond the action, it is also a moving coming-of-age story that explores how a group of youngsters get caught up in a web of student politics and gang violence.

    Jigarthanda DoubleX

When it comes to hilarious gangsters, Raghava Lawrence plays the extremely memorable Caesar in the Tamil comedy Jigarthanda DoubleX. Directed by Kartik Subbaraj and the second installment in the Jigarthanda series, this comedy-drama finds a cinema-loving gangster recruiting an amateur director (who is secretly tasked with killing him).

    Jan.E.Man

Apart from Faasil, the stand-out performer of Aavesham is Saajin Gopu who plays Ranga’s sidekick. To watch more of Gopu’s comic timing, you should stream the Malayalam situational comedy Jan.E.Man. Here again, Gopu was relegated to a supporting role but drew more acclaim than the leads.

    RDX: Robert Donny Xavier

RDX is similar to Aavesham in the sense that both movies deal with a trio of slackers who get involved in a network of goons and dons. But in the case of RDX, the titular three heroes Robert, Donny, and Xavier are also trained in karate. Martial arts dominates the physical comedy of this mass entertainer.

    Bangalore Days

Before their life changes after meeting Ranga, the three young heroes of Aavesham shift from Kerala to the sprawling metropolis of Bangalore. The city comes with its own challenges as they soon discover. A similar experience is recreated (but with more romantic and dramatic results) in Bangalore Days, the cult classic coming-of-age movie starring Dulquer Salmaan and Nazriya Nazim.

    Trance

Fahadh Faasil has a chameleon-like presence in Malayalam cinema. While he’s hilarious as Ranga, witness him transform into a character who is both darkly funny and menacing. Trance stars him as a down-on-his-luck loser who finds a new life when he becomes a fake spiritual leader.

    Romancham

A comedy-horror with the same screwball energy as Aavesham, Romancham stars Soubin Shahir and Sajin Gopu. Based on director Jithu Madhavan’s own experiences in college, the film follows the twisted events of one night when a group of good-for-nothing students use an Ouija board to invoke a spirit.

    Delhi Belly

Starring Imran Khan in a career-best performance, Delhi Belly is a Bollywood cult classic. Again like Aavesham, the crime comedy revolves around three friends accidentally becoming a part of a criminal conspiracy. Their troubled love lives and greed for money dictate their further actions.

    Thallumaala

Thallumaala is a gangster comedy about a notorious crime lord whose opponents challenge him on his wedding day. Tovino Thomas’s protagonist in this Malayalam hit is similar to Ranga’s evergreen persona in Aavesham.

    Aayutha Ezhuthu

Directed by Tamil auteur Mani Ratnam, Aayutha Ezhuthu explores the intricacies of youth politics in the early 2000s by blending stories of three unlikely heroes from different walks of life. While it is way more serious than Aavesham, it makes for a classic watch with similar themes.

In the list below, we give you all the details that you need to stream these movies in India. You can also find offers to rent or watch them online for free.

  • How to Watch the Planet of the Apes Movies In Order

How to Watch the Planet of the Apes Movies In Order

    “Apes Together Strong!”

The Planet of the Apes franchise has fascinated us humans since 1968. While the classic movies introduced the concept of a world with ape rulers and human slaves, the recent ones have rebooted the franchise with more realistic storylines. Regardless of the era, the Planet of the Apes movies have revolutionised sci-fi in Hollywood with socially relevant themes, practical makeup, and subsequently motion-capture visual effects.

To celebrate the release of 2024’s Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, here are all the movies in both chronological and release order along with all the places where you can stream them.

How to Watch the Planet of the Apes movies in chronological order

The Planet of the Apes franchise can be divided into three timelines. The first is the original series that ran from 1968 to 1973. This was then followed by a standalone remake in 2001 that was directed by Tim Burton. The series was then rebooted in 2011 with Rise of the Planet of the Apes which continues to this day with sequels.

Planet of the Apes Original Series

    Planet of the Apes Remake

Planet of the Apes Reboot Series

The first Planet of the Apes movie was released in 1968 and starred Charlton Heston as an astronaut stranded on the titular planet in a dystopian future. Here, talking apes rule while mute humans are held captive. The film delved into class struggles and slavery while serving as a cutting-edge sci-fi epic for its time. Four direct sequels followed although they couldn’t replicate the first movie’s success.

In 2001, Batman director Tim Burton sought to reboot the franchise with a direct remake of the 1968 movie. Also titled Planet of the Apes, this remake found Mark Wahlberg replacing Heston’s part. Helena Bonham Carter and Tim Roth also star as the apes. The movie failed to win over critics and audiences, squashing hopes for any sequels.

The franchise found new life in 2011 with Rise of the Planet of the Apes. This movie was different from the previous ones in the sense that it was set in the present time and not a dystopian future. Through motion capture technology, Andy Serkis played Caesar, a highly-intelligent chimpanzee who is pushed to start a rebellion against humanity. The war between humans and the apes under Caesar is fleshed out further in the two sequels directed by Matt Reeves: Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and War for the Planet of the Apes.

The latest part in this reboot franchise is Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes that is set three centuries after Caesar’s lifetime. With all reboot movies gaining immensely positive reviews for its story, action, and CGI, more potential sequels are to be expected.

  • 10 Movies to Watch If You Liked Madgaon Express (and Where to Watch Them)

10 Movies to Watch If You Liked Madgaon Express (and Where to Watch Them)

Madgaon Express marks the directorial debut of Bollywood actor Kunal Khemu. While he has already dabbled in buddy comedies like Go Goa Gone and the Golmaal movies, Madgaon Express borrows the best elements of his past filmography and mixes it up with the road comedy formula. The plot follows three childhood friends who reunite for a wild trip to Goa, the Indian state famed for its beachside beauty and nightlife.

If you loved the screwball antics of Madgaon Express, we offer you a list of similar movies to watch and all the places where you can stream them.

    Go Goa Gone

Arguably India’s first zombie comedy, Go Goa Gone paired Khemu alongside stand-up comedian Vir Das, actor-turned-director Anand Tiwari and Saif Ali Khan in a special appearance as a Russian zombie hunter. The movie is as unpredictable and hilarious as its cast with its premise of a zombie pandemic unleashing in a Goa rave.

    Dil Chahta Hai

A trendsetter for early-2000s Bollywood, Dil Chahta Hai explored themes like suburban friendships, unconventional romances, and the rebellious desire to not stick to societal norms. Referenced in Madgaon Express for its memorable Goa trip montage, Dil Chahta Hai finds director Farhan Akhtar in fine form and brings out career-defining performances from Aamir Khan, Akshaye Khanna, and Saif Ali Khan.

    Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara

A spiritual successor of sorts to Dil Chahta Hai, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara touches upon similar themes but on a grander scale. Hrithik Roshan, Abhay Deol, and Farhan Akhtar play three lifelong friends who make some life-changing decisions on a pan-European bachelors’ trip.

    Queen

When Rani (Kangana Ranaut) gets ditched by her fiancé, she rediscovers her life’s purpose and escapes from a conservative North Indian society. A heart-warmingly entertaining trip across Europe follows.

    Dumb and Dumber

While Madgaon Express has its emotional moments, it is also heavy on some goofy situational comedy. These scenes are all the more hilarious to watch with its gullible characters. If you need a similar tone in the road movie genre, then you must watch the Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels classic Dumb and Dumber.

    Lootcase

Before directing chaotic comedy in Madgaon Express, Kunal Khemu has himself had some share of it as an actor. This perhaps best comes out in his underrated crime caper Lootcase. Khemu stars as a sincere office-worker who accidentally comes across a suitcase full of money.

    Chashme Buddoor

While Madgaon Express actor Divyendu starred in the remake of the same name, the 1981 original is the better comedy to watch. Starring Farooq Shaikh, Rakesh Bedi, and Ravi Baswani as a trio of good-for-nothing college students, this movie was the Madgaon Express for its time (or arguably even better).

    Road Trip

The formula for zany road trip comedy was redefined in the 2000s with Todd Phillip’s buddy comedy aptly titled Road Trip. While it’s way raunchier than Madgaon Express, Road Trip is still a rollercoaster ride to watch.

    Finding Fanny

Directed by Homi Adajania, Finding Fanny subverts the Goa road trip formula with a Wes Anderson-like dysfunctional drama. Naseeruddin Shah stars as a postmaster finding his titular love interest while a band of weirdos (Arjun Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Dimple Kapadia and more) accompany him in a beat-up car.

    Andaz Apna Apna

The self-aware foolishness and slapstick physical comedy of the lead actors in Madgaon Express is reminiscent of this cult classic from the 1990s. Starring Aamir Khan and Salman Khan as two gullible slackers vying for the same girl, Andaz Apna Apna is the benchmark for hilariously stupid Bollywood comedies.

Check out the list below to see where you can watch, buy or rent all these movies in India. Happy journey!

  • 10 Movies to Watch If You Liked Kingdom Of The Planet of The Apes (And Where To Stream Them)

10 Movies to Watch If You Liked Kingdom Of The Planet of The Apes (And Where To Stream Them)

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes continues the successful reboot movies of the Planet of the Apes franchise. Set three hundred years after the events of War of the Planet of the Apes, the 2024 sci-fi action thriller revolves around a chimpanzee and a young woman as they decide the future for humans and apes.

If you enjoyed this immersive blend of militaristic action and motion-capture CGI, we offer you ten more movies to watch after Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes and the platforms where you can stream them.

War for the Planet of the Apes (2017)

A direct precursor to Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, this ambitious action epic concludes the arc of Andy Serkis’s ape leader Caesar. A rewatch is due following the franchise’s latest release (which covers the whereabouts of Caesar’s descendants).

    The Maze Runner (2014)

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes director Wes Ball first proved his mastery over the sci-fi thriller genre with his directorial debut. Starring Dylan O’Brien in the titular role, the post-apocalyptic adaptation revolves around a band of captive teenagers as they fight off mechanical creatures and struggle to escape the maze they’re trapped in.

    Congo (1995)

When it comes to movies on super-intelligent apes, Congo is an underrated classic. Based on a novel by Jurassic Park writer Michael Crichton, Congo is a survival horror pitting scientists and CIA agents against rogue killer apes in the forest.

    King Kong (2005)

No list of ape movies is complete without a mention of King Kong. While the 1931 is an undisputed classic, Peter Jackson’s 2005 remake will appeal to newer audiences. Caesar actor Andy Serkis also delivers a moving motion-capture performance as the gigantic gorilla who loyally protects a human woman.

Avatar: The Way of Water (2022)

James Cameron’s spectacular sequel to Avatar is comparable to Kingdom of Planet of the Apes in terms of its ambitious world-building and hyper-realistic motion-capture animation.

    I, Robot (2004)

The philosophical debates on ape-human coexistence in Kingdom of Planet of the Apes are strangely reminiscent of similar themes in robot-themed movies. The criminally underrated Will Smith-starrer I, Robot is one such example that examines the morals of humans using robots in a tech-driven future.

    Abigail (2024)

Kevin Durand is one of the stand-out performers of Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, playing the villainous ape tyrant Proximus Caesar. If you want to watch more of the actor’s work, look no further than his recent release Abigail. The dark horror comedy features a 12-year-old ballerina vampire who fights off her kidnappers (Durand being one of them).

    Dune (2021)

Much like Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, Dune brilliantly sets up a world that is so similar to humanity and yet so fantastical on its own. The rivalries between the Harkonnen invaders and the Fremen rebels also echoes the human-ape relations. Sci-fi epics don’t get bigger than Dune.

    War of the Worlds  (2005)

Before Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, regular sci-fi screenwriter Josh Friedman found his first break with Steven Spielberg’s War of the Worlds. Adapting the classic HG Wells novel of the same name, the survival thriller finds Tom Cruise saving his family in the face of a Martian invasion.

    Planet of the Apes (1968)

While Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes and its companion reboots would win over a new audience, it’s always worth revisiting the 1968 original. Set in a dystopian planet of apes enslaving humans, you need to watch Planet of the Apes for its sheer scope and ambition.

Below you can find a list of all these movies and TV shows along with the information you need on where to stream them in India.

    1- Android Kunjappan Ver 5.25

    2- Bahu Hamari Rajni Kanth

If you like whacky human-android romances like the one in Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, you should watch this hilarious Hindi TV serial that revolves around a scientist who creates the ideal partner (a robot whom he falls in love with).

    3- Enthiran

When it comes to Indian films on robots, Enthiran is always a cult classic to watch. Starring Rajinikanth in a dual role as a gifted scientist and his robotic creation Chitti, the Tamil sci-fi thriller is a VFX-heavy epic that explores the morals of artificial intelligence.

4- Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai

Instead of falling for a robot, the hopeless romantic hero in Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai falls for an alien from Venus. While they both have different notions of love, a wholesome sci-fi rom-com blossoms.

    5- Her

While American films have already toyed with the concept of humans falling for robots, Her pits a lonely tech-worker with an Artificial Intelligence system. Profound and emotional in its approach, this Oscar-winning sci-fi drama boasts a career-defining performance by Joaquin Phoenix and features stellar voice-acting by Scarlett Johansson as the AI system Samantha.

    6- Jab We Met

If you wish to watch some of Shahid Kapoor’s older romances, Jab We Met is one of his best works. Directed by Imtiaz Ali, this humorous spin on the boy-meets-girl formula starred him alongside Kareena Kapoor. Both play polar opposite characters who start liking each other after a chance encounter on a train ride.

7- Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani

Karan Johar’s vibrant and energetic rom-com-drama stars Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt as two lovers who yearn to get their families’ approval. The struggle to get accepted by one’s family is similarly echoed in Teri Baaton Mei Aisa Uljha Jiya. Both movies also feature a wholesome supporting performance by Bollywood veteran Dharmendra.

    8- Robots (2023)

This sci-fi comedy finds Shailene Woodley and Jack Whitehall pursuing robotic doubles of themselves and finding their own humanity in this process. Watch it if you love a good, old love story but with new-age robots.

    9- Ra. One

Ra. One finds Shah Rukh Khan playing a video game developer and an AI-driven hero of the game. Featuring cutting-edge effects for its time, Ra. One is a classic in the pantheon of Bollywood robot movies.

    10- OK Computer

This Hotstar series is set in a “New India” that is run by self-driving taxis and police robots. But when one such technological innovation starts malfunctioning, the human detectives step into the scene. OK Computer proves that India has a lot of scope for fresh and original android stories.

Below you can find a list of all these movies and TV shows along with the information you need to stream them in India.

  • 10 Movies and Shows to Watch If You Loved Shaitaan (and Where to Stream Them)

10 Movies and Shows to Watch If You Loved Shaitaan (and Where to Stream Them)

Supernatural horror in Bollywood has had a mixed track record but new movies like Shaitaan are changing this stereotype. A Hindi remake of an acclaimed Gujarati horror, the movie deals with a family patriarch (Ajay Devgn) who must fight off a mysterious stranger (R Madhavan) after he possesses his daughter (Janki Bodiwala). A critical and commercial success, the 2024 release is now available to stream.

If you enjoyed this nail biting horror, we’ve got you covered with more movies and TV shows that you can watch after Shaitaan and where to stream them online right now.

    1- Vash

Vash is the original Gujarati horror from which Shaitaan was remade. Dealing with the same premise as Shaitaan, Vash boasts a breakout performance by Janki Bodiwala as a girl possessed by a master of dark arts. Her chilling performance was so praiseworthy that she reprised her role in the Hindi remake.

    2- Drishyam

Need any more movies with Ajay Devgn as a protective family man? Drishyam is the best thriller to watch. A remake of the Malayalam movie of the same name, Drishyam deals with a family’s whereabouts after they are involved in an accidental murder. A web of lies and unpredictable plot twists follow.

    3- Asur

The OTT debut of Arshad Warsi, Asur is a supernatural mystery series. The acclaimed streaming title follows forensic experts tracking down fanatic serial killers, some of whom believe in a higher purpose behind their crimes. In this sense, the villains of Asur are as menacing as Vanraj Kashyap, the villain in Shaitaan played by R Madhavan.

    4- Phoonk

An exorcism horror directed by Ram Gopal Varma, Phoonk is similar to Shaitaan in terms of its story and atmosphere. Much like Ajay Devgn, Kannada star Sudeep plays an atheist forced to believe in superstitions and black magic after his daughter gets possessed by an evil spirit.

    5- Ghost Stories

If you need more variety in your Bollywood horror, watch the Netflix anthology Ghost Stories. Featuring four shades of horror by four leading directors (Zoya Akhtar, Anurag Kashyap, Dibakar Banerjee, Karan Johar), the stories in this Netflix original can be disturbing, haunting, and even darkly funny.

    6- Pari

Anushka Sharma gives a goosebump-inducing performance as a girl with a dark and tortured past in Pari. Set in the gloomy parts of Kolkata, Pari is more disturbing and gut-wrenching than your average Hindi-language horror. This isn’t for the faint hearted!

    7- Bulbbul

Shaitaan proved how Bollywood horror can be rich in substance and not mere shock value. Bulbbul is an even more artistic horror that is set in postcolonial Bengal. The Netflix original features a splendid performance by Tripti Dimri as a woman who begins haunting her abusers in an increasingly misogynistic society.

    8- Hide and Seek (Lapachhapi)

Shifting to a new home only to encounter paranormal activity. It’s a classic horror trope that is creatively explored in the Marathi horror Lapachhapi. When a married couple moves to a remote village, they unwillingly encounter strange phenomena in a sugarcane field. Much like Shaitaan, it proves how real horror lurks everywhere around us.

    9- Vikram Vedha

While Madhavan is used to play kind-hearted heroes, he can occasionally play morally gray characters. The Tamil cop drama Vikram Vedha is a thrilling watch with a praiseworthy performance by Madhavan as a violent vigilante policeman.

    10- 1920

Borrowing heavily from The Exorcist, the first of the 1920 movies deals with the age-old concept of spirit-possession and the religious exorcism that follows. Shaitaan flips the script but 1920 sticks to the classic tricks.

Below you can find a list of all these movies and TV shows along with the information you need to stream them in India.

  • 11 Best Movies To Watch If You Loved Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga (and Where to Stream Them)

11 Best Movies To Watch If You Loved Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga (and Where to Stream Them)

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga marks Australian director George Miller’s return to the Mad Max franchise with Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth in the lead. An origin story focused on Furiosa (the rebel played by Charlize Theron in Mad Max: Fury Road), the gritty action epic has the best elements of the Mad Max movies along with a powerful lead performance by Taylor-Joy.

If you enjoyed the post-apocalyptic madness of Furiosa, our streaming guide shows you similar movies to watch and where you can stream them.

    1. Mad Max: Fury Road

While every Mad Max movie is worth a watch, Mad Max: Fury Road is perfect for new fans to the franchise. The 2015 sequel also acts as a soft reboot with Tom Hardy replacing Mel Gibson as the rebellious driver Max. As he teams up with Furiosa, unhinged chaos ensues in the desert.

    2. Mortal Engines

If you liked the big-budget vehicular action of Furiosa, you must watch Mortal Engines for its sheer scope and ambition. Mortal Engines is set in a world where every city is mounted on wheels and is ready to run over each other for survival.

    3. Snowpiercer

If the dystopia of Furiosa is set in orange-red deserts, Parasite director Bong Joon-ho’s Snowpiercer is set in a grey, frozen environment. With the planet frozen to an Ice Age, the survivors band together in a train called Snowpiercer. As a class struggle kicks off in the train, Chris Evans’ protagonist becomes a working-class rebel like Furiosa.

    4. The Witch

If Taylor-Joy’s performance as Furiosa impressed you, it’s worth revisiting her dynamic cinematic debut in The Witch. Robert Eggers’ medieval horror featured her as a girl growing up in a superstitious plague-struck society as demonic forces surround her.

    5. Dune

When it comes to sprawling desert epics like Furiosa, Denis Villeneuve’s Dune franchise makes for essential viewing. The two movies cover the rise of Paul Atreides, a young royal who unexpectedly becomes the leader of a nomadic desert tribe. With an ensemble cast led by Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya, Dune is similar to Furiosa in terms of majestic set pieces and real-world action.

    6. Dune: Part Two

For exactly the same reasons why you should watch Dune if you loved Furiosa, Dune: Part Two concludes Denis Villeneuve's adaptation of Frank Herbert's iconic sci-fi novel. The movie was a huge success at the box office and received rave reviews.

    7. 12 Strong

Need more of Chris Hemsworth in the desert after Furiosa? Watch 12 Strong in that case. The fact-based war drama stars him as the leader of a US Special Forces team that unites with an Afghan warlord to take down the Taliban after 9/11.

    8. Pitch Black

World-building plays a major part in making Furiosa so exciting. A world of similarly epic proportions is visited in Pitch Black. But while the sun shines almost all the time in Furiosa, Pitch Black is set in a planet that is mostly covered in darkness and populated by nocturnal beats.

    9. Death Race

If you need some mindless action with fast cars and truck chases, watch Death Race. The Jason Statham-starrer lacks the depth of Furiosa but has enough vehicle action to keep you hooked.

    10. Mank

Apart from Hemsworth and Taylor-Joy, one of the most unforgettable performances in Furiosa was by Tom Burke as War Rig driver Praetorian Jack. If you wish to watch more of his recent performances, see him play legendary director Orson Welles in Mank. The Netflix period drama covers the strange-but-true story behind the making of Citizen Kane (aka the “greatest movie ever made” for many).

    11. The Madness of Max

Want to know more about how George Miller and his crew birthed the world of Mad Max? This know-it-all documentary will give you the scoop.

Where can I watch movies like Furiosa online?

In this guide you'll find all the information you need to stream movies similar to Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. Whether you're looking to stream Dune, Death Race or any other titles in this list, we've got you covered. • Every George Miller Movie, Ranked – A Streaming Guide

Every George Miller Movie, Ranked – A Streaming Guide

From the post-apocalyptic chaos of Mad Max to the foot-tapping musical numbers of Happy Feet, Australian writer and director George Miller is a truly versatile auteur. The Oscar nominee broke out with the first Mad Max film in 1979 but continues to exhibit exceptional style and substance with offerings like Three Thousand Years Of Longing and Furiosa.

If you are a fan of the fantasy and sci-fi director, we’ve got you covered with a list of the best George Miller movies along with all the information that you need to stream them.

Which George Miller movies should I watch first?

As George Miller’s very name is synonymous with Mad Max, it’s best to start his filmography with the iconic action franchise. The first three Mad Max movies are thrilling stunt-driven thrillers starring Mel Gibson as a lonely drifter who explores crime and anarchy in a dystopian desert world. The original trilogy (Mad Max, The Road Warrior, and Beyond Thunderdome) established Miller’s tendency to film ambitious car chase sequences and practical stunts with little to no CGI.

This tendency was only improved further in his 2015 revival Mad Max: Fury Road which featured Tom Hardy as Max this time and introduced new characters like Charlize Theron’s hot-headed rebel Furiosa. The movie reinvented Miller’s career and garnered six Oscar wins. Building upon the popularity of Furiosa, Miller returned to the sun-scorched world of the franchise with an equally thrilling prequel Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga (starring Anya Taylor-Joy as a younger version of the character).

Apart from his violent, adult-oriented action flicks, Miller has also directed some memorable children’s hits. Apart from directing a talking pig’s urban adventures in Babe: Pig In The City, he also directed the Happy Feet movies. The Happy Feet franchise consists of 3D-animated movies featuring singing penguins and commentary on climate change.

Some of Miller’s more underrated works include the moving human drama Lorenzo’s Oil and the philosophical fantasy Three Thousand Years of Longing. Lorenzo’s Oil dealt with a couple’s efforts to find a cure for their son Lorenzo’s ALD condition (a disease that results in seizures, hyperactivity, and verbal issues). While the drama flopped at the box-office, it drew immense critical praise and garnered two Oscar nominations for Miller’s screenplay and Susan Sarandon’s lead performance as Lorenzo’s mother.

Three Thousand Years of Longing similarly failed commercially but continued Miller’s streak of critical acclaim. Starring Tilda Swinton as an inquisitive scholar and Idris Elba as an ancient djinn, the fantasy drama played out as multiple stories exchanged between this unlikely duo. Once you’re done with the adrenaline rush of the Mad Max movies and the heartwarming innocence of Babe 2 and Happy Feet, you should give Miller’s underrated classics a watch.

Why is Mad Max: Fury Road the best George Miller movie to watch?

While all the Mad Max movies are exceptional action thrillers in their own right, the 2015 blockbuster marks the peak of Miller’s directing skills. Ambitious in scope and narrative, the road movie benefits from a muted Tom Hardy performance, Charlize Theron’s act as the breakout character Furiosa, and some high-octane vehicular action. As an army of cars chases our hero, the villainous drivers even have a guitarist with a flame-throwing guitar on their side. Mad Max: Fury Road is that cool!

Where can you watch the best George Miller movies online?

Below you can find the latest streaming information for George Miller’s best movies. This includes every offer for viewers in India today. We'll also show you if any of the director’s best movies are available to watch online for free.

20 Best Anya Taylor-Joy Movies And TV Shows Where To Watch Them

From breaking out in her debut film The Witch to playing the titular heroine in Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, Anya Taylor-Joy is one of the most promising young actresses of this generation. In the latest Mad Max movie, Taylor-Joy plays the renegade warrior Furiosa (a role previously played by Charlize Theron in Mad Max: Fury Road). The movie marks her foray into the action genre after having successfully made her mark in horror, romance, drama, and even animation.

If you love the Golden Globe-winning actress, we’ve got you covered with a definitive guide to the best Anya Taylor-Joy movies and all the options to stream them.

Which Anya Taylor-Joy movies should I watch first?

Anya Taylor-Joy has dabbled in many genres in her screen career but her forte has always been horror. Her debut film The Witch was a major revelation for both her acting and Robert Eggers’ direction. Set in the midst of a medieval plague, the slow-burning supernatural horror is a good first film to watch for those who are just discovering the actress.

Other equally impressive horrors to watch include Edgar Wright’s stylish time-traveling London horror Last Night In Soho, the culinary thriller The Menu, and M. Night Shyamalan’s dissociative identity disorder-centric psychological drama Split (and its sequel Glass).

Her other genre projects include The Northman, a Viking revenge saga that featured her as a mysterious oracle, and Furiosa, a Mad Max prequel that paired her alongside Chris Hemsworth in the dystopian desert world of the franchise. Taylor-Joy was equally impressive playing the titular spoilt, rich matchmaker in Emma (an adaptation of Jane Austen’s classic novel).

When it comes to her involvement with big-budget franchises like Mad Max, she has also been involved in the Dune movies. While her appearance as Timothée Chalamet’s on-screen sister Alia was a brief cameo in Dune: Part Two, her role will be more significant in the sequels.

Taylor-Joy has also made her mark in television and streaming. The TV shows that you should watch right away include the Netflix miniseries The Queen’s Gambit and the British crime drama Peaky Blinders. In the former, Taylor-Joy starred as an ambitious chess-player in a sporting world dominated by men. The actress drew immense praise and won her a Golden Globe and Critics Choice Award. In Peaky Blinders, she appeared in the latter seasons as the manipulative antiheroine Gina Gray.

If you wish to watch some of her animation credits, Taylor-Joy also voiced the bold warrior Princess Peach in The Super Mario Bros. Movie and one of the elvish heroes in the Netflix animated series The Dark Crystals: Age of Resistance.

Why is Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga the best Anya Taylor-Joy movie to watch?

Larger-than-life practical effects. Lore from a franchise that has still not run out of fuel. Thrilling car stunts. Australian director George Miller's expertise over his craft. And, of course, a dramatic lead performance by Anya Taylor-Joy makes Furiosa her best movie to watch. The actress balances gritty, dystopian action with an emotional portrayal of a girl who's torn from her family only to become an unlikely rebel. When it comes to Anya Taylor-Joy’s lead roles, this summer blockbuster offers her best.

Where can I watch the best Anya Taylor-Joy movies and TV shows online?

  • The 10 Best Romantic Bollywood Movies of the 1990s

The 10 Best Romantic Bollywood Movies of the 1990s

Timeless songs, iconic dance moves and a collection of emotionally charged love stories— the ‘90s were truly a defining era for romantic Bollywood films. Young directors like Karan Johar and Aditya Chopra introduced a whole new wave of culture with their new-age films that brought dreamy international destinations, designer wear, and pop culture into the spotlight.

Filled with grand romantic gestures, memorable dialogues, dreamy locations, and classic songs, there’s nothing better than a good old romantic Bollywood movie from the ‘90s when you’re in the mood for well-rounded entertainment.

Whether you’re new to Bollywood or in a nostalgic mood to rewatch some timeless classics, here’s our pick of the 10 best romantic Bollywood movies from the 1990s and where you can stream them online.

    Bollywood’s Love for Love Triangles

Love triangles were a common theme in ‘90s Bollywood films. They showcased the complexities of relationships and often reflected the conflict young Indians faced as they navigated love in a rapidly modernizing society.

Some of the most popular Bollywood movies with love triangles, like Rangeela, a movie about an aspiring actress caught in a love triangle between her childhood friend and a famous movie star; Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, a movie about a newly married woman torn between her loyalty towards her husband and her lingering love towards a passionate ex; and Dil To Pagal Hai, an upbeat musical romance where two dancers vie for the affections of their choreographer, were released in the nineties.

    Family and Cultural Conflicts

During the ‘90s, Bollywood films with family and cultural conflicts resonated strongly with a generation struggling to balance the traditional expectations from their families while embracing the new modern values that came with India’s liberalization. Movies like Hum Saath Saath Hain, Raja Hindustani, and Hum Aapke Hain Koun challenged cultural norms like living in a joint family, the concept of arranged marriage, and the idea that marriage can only exist within the same societal class. These films are famous not only for their deep and timeless love stories but also for questioning age-old norms and seeing them through the eyes of the younger generation.

    Unconventional Love Stories

In between all the songs, mushy romance, and dance, Bollywood movies from the ‘90s also had a unique way of getting serious messages across. Movies like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai stood out for normalizing the concept of remarriage by showing it through the innocent lens of a child’s eye trying to reunite her father with his former female best friend after losing her mother. Yash Chopra’s iconic film, Lamhe, pushed the envelope by bringing a love story between a young girl and a guy old enough to be her father into the spotlight of mainstream cinema.

The #1 Romantic Bollywood Movie from the ‘90s: Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge

You can’t talk about nineties Bollywood without mentioning Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. Marking Aditya Chopra’s debut film as a director, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ), tells the story of Simran, a small-town girl from Punjab who falls in love with Raj, a modern boy she meets while on her bachelorette trip in Switzerland. The movie focuses on the trials and tribulations that stand in the way of their love as Simran’s family pressurizes her to live up to the promise of marrying a boy she barely knows.

Whether it's the dreamy backdrop of Switzerland, the iconic pairing of Kajol and Shah Rukh Khan, or the catchy songs, DDLJ has transcended from being a movie to becoming a cultural phenomenon. Considered one of the most influential movies of its time, the film ran in Mumbai’s Maratha Mandir theater for 27 years, continuing to attract viewers for more than two decades following its initial release. The film also inspired the production of a Broadway musical titled Come Fall In Love in 2022.

It’s #1 on our list as it combines everything from mushy romance and dreamy locations to compelling family dynamics and an unforgettable soundtrack, making it a memorable watch every single time.

  • 30 Best Arshad Warsi Movies and Where to Watch Them

30 Best Arshad Warsi Movies and Where to Watch Them

While he might be known as a comedic supporting actor in hit Bollywood franchises like Golmaal and Munnabhai, Arshad Warsi is also a talented lead actor in his own right. A mainstay in Hindi cinema since the 2000s, Warsi also occasionally acts in web series like Asur and the Prime Video anthology Modern Love.

If you are eager to check out Arshad Warsi’s filmography, our guide takes you through his best movies while showing how and where to stream all of them.

Which Arshad Warsi movies should I watch first?

To start with Arshad Warsi’s most popular movies, it’s better to watch his comedic projects first. These include the four Golmaal movies, two Munnabhai movies, and classic comedies like Hulchul and Dhamaal.

Warsi is best-known for his portrayal of the lovable street goon Circuit in Munnabhai MBBS and its sequel Lage Raho Munnabhai. Sharing hilarious chemistry with Sanjay Dutt (who played fellow soft-hearted hooligan Munnabhai), Warsi broke out as a character actor and became a household name with this franchise.

In the Golmaal movies, he has showcased his screwball comedy skills alongside other popular actors like Ajay Devgn and Kareena Kapoor. In the equally chaotic comedies Sunday and Dhamaal, Warsi also shone playing street-smart characters.

A more serious and nuanced side of Arshad Warsi is reflected in social satires like Kabul Express, Jolly LLB and the crime-comedy Ishqiya. In Kabir Khan’s Kabul Express, Warsi played an Indian war correspondent making new friends and enemies in terrorist-controlled Afghanistan. Playing the titular character in Jolly LLB, Warsi played a bumbling but kind-hearted lawyer who defends the poor against posh, corporate lawyers.

As for Ishqiya (and its sequel Dedh Ishqiya), Warsi shared screen space with acclaimed actor Naseeruddin Shah. Both Shah and Warsi played a duo of womanizing criminals who encounter a comedy of errors after falling for mysterious women.

While most of Arshad Warsi’s movies are either feel-good or dark comedies, Warsi also proved he’s capable enough to lead serious thrillers with Asur. First released on Voot and later by Jio Cinema, the two-season thriller series found him playing a veteran investigator whose limits are tested by a brutal serial killer. The series marked his debut in the OTT space and rejuvenated his recent career.

Why is Jolly LLB Arshad Warsi’s best movie to watch?

Jolly LLB is Arshad Warsi’s best movie as a lead actor, allowing him to display not just his feel-good comic timing but also his melodramatic side. The legal drama plays out as a satire on the state of the Indian legal system and the economic differences running it. Warsi’s Jolly is a lovable underdog whose life changes after he battles a drunk driving case against a wealthy veteran lawyer (impressively played by Boman Irani).

Apart from career-defining performances by Warsi and Irani, the film also benefits greatly from its character actors like Saurabh Shukla whose portrayal of a short-tempered judge guarantees rip-roaring laughter. While the sequel Jolly LLB 2 recast Akshay Kumar in Warsi’s role, he is supposed to return in the third part.

Where can I watch the best Arshad Warsi movies online?

Below you can find the latest streaming information for Arshad Warsi's best movies. This includes every offer for viewers in India today. We'll also show you if any of his best movies are available to watch online for free.

While Yamla Pagla Deewana spawned two more sequels, a notable performance from his recent career comes from Karan Johar’s romantic comedy Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. The movie found him playing Ranveer Singh’s on-screen grandfather, an elderly family patriarch who finds solace in his tiresome life when he rediscovers a past love interest. Dharmendra’s performance was lauded among critics as one of the film’s best elements.

With five acting Filmfare nods and one Best Film nomination (for producing Ghayal), Dharmendra was finally awarded a Lifetime Achievement Filmfare in 1997. His contribution to Indian cinema is immeasurable, and his legacy as one of the greatest actors in Bollywood will endure for generations to come.

His Veeru remains one of his most iconic performances and is etched in the annals of Indian cinema.

  • 25 Best Kajal Aggarwal Movies and Where to Watch Them

25 Best Kajal Aggarwal Movies and Where to Watch Them

Kajal Aggarwal is one of the most popular actresses in South India, appearing primarily in Telugu and Tamil films. Apart from starring in hits like Thuppakki and Magadheera, she also occasionally acts in Hindi movies like Special 26 and Singham.

If you wish to explore her filmography, our streaming guide takes you through the best movies starring Kajal Aggarwal and all the necessary information you need to stream them.

Which Kajal Aggarwal movies should I watch first?

Beginning her career in 2004 with a brief role in the Bollywood film Kyun! Ho Gaya Na, Kajal Aggarwal gained recognition with her Telugu debut in Lakshmi Kalyanam (2007) and Tamil debut in Pazhani (2008).

Aggarwal's portrayal of Mitravinda in the Telugu fantasy blockbuster Magadheera (2009) catapulted her to stardom. The film's success showcased her versatility and acting prowess. Subsequently, she delivered stellar performances in Tamil films like the Karthi-led action drama Naan Mahaan Alla (2010), the spy thriller Thuppakki (2012), and Dhanush’s action comedy Maari (2015), earning critical acclaim and a strong fan base down South.

Her Hindi ventures include films like the cop drama Singham (2011), where she portrayed a strong-willed doctor, and Special 26 (2013), where she showcased her versatility in a supporting role.

Aggarwal's nuanced performances in both Hindi and South Indian movies have garnered her several award nominations, including Filmfare Awards and South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA).

Among her best roles, her portrayal of Mithra, a headstrong and independent woman in Thuppakki, stands out. Her chemistry with Vijay and her performance as a college student who gets entangled in a terrorist plot were widely appreciated. In Magadheera, her dual role as a princess in the 17th century and a modern-day girl was lauded for its depth and emotional range.

Awe marked an unconventional lead performance with Aggarwal playing a mentally troubled villain whose suicidal tendencies link a bunch of random characters. While most of her previous projects were masala movies starring mass-heroes like Mahesh Babu, Vijay, Junior NTR, and Ram Charan, Awe had Aggarwal fully in control in the lead.

Why is Magadheera Kajal Aggarwal’s best movie to watch?

Before RRR and Baahubali, Telugu director SS Rajamouli helmed the cult favourite Magadheera. An action-heavy fantasy, the movie finds Ram Charan and Kajal Aggarwal playing star-crossed lovers across different timelines. From the movie’s grand production design to the lead actors’ effortless chemistry, Magadheera was an instant blockbuster and went on to make Aggarwal an A-lister.

The Hindi thriller Special 26 comes in second. And while it might be a smarter film overall, it unfortunately relegated Aggarwal to a smaller role. It’s Magadheera where she truly shone as a lead actress.

Where can I stream the best Kajal Aggarwal movies online?

Below you can find the latest streaming information for Kajal Aggarwal's best movies. This includes every offer for viewers in India today. We'll also show you if any of her best movies are available to watch online for free.
