What to know

What is Lord of the Rings: War of the Rohirrim about?

When is War of the Rohirrim set?

The story being told in the movie is set 183 years before The Fellowship of the Ring. It is connected to the original trilogy directed by Peter Jackson due to the casting of Miranda Otto who voices Eowyn, the narrator of the movie. Eowyn is narrating the story from a point after the original trilogy, so while the bulk of the story is happening in the past, the telling of the story is occurring much later.

Is War of the Rohirrim connected to The Rings of Power?

This movie is not connected to the Amazon Prime series, The Rings of Power. Lord of the Rings: War of the Rohirrim is produced by New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. Animation and therefore is set in the same world as the Peter Jackson trilogy.
